Yes, I think big US pharma will want it and RM will find it difficult to fend off their attempts at snapping SNG altogether. A few billion dollars will suffice to convince the biggest holders. Unless, of course, RM pulls it off by scaling the production up without relying on big pharma, in which case the crazy-looking (at first sight) valuations suggested on this forum will become reality.

Yes, there's no way two-thirds will ever be vaccinated. I've just had a look at the priority list in the UK and guess what: I don't even make it into the ninth priority group (50 years of age and above)! By the time the vaccine is given to everyone in groups 1-3, which will take six months at least, they will need to be inoculated again because their immunity will have dissipated. That way, we'll be vaccinating the same people forever, and the rest of us will never get a jab!

I agree, Oakleaf. Anything related to Covid vaccines sells at the moment, and a few shares, e.g. N4P, have been riding that wave successfully even though their connection to the existing vaccines is rather loose. But our time will come sooner than most people expect. I strongly believe that a super-strong bounce will happen before Christmas, and it will be driven by a clearer timeline for P3 and the first snags being hit in the vaccine roll-out (and perhaps even in their approval, e.g. by the EU).

A few more days bouncing around these levels and then up, up and away!

I'm listening to an interesting Covid discussion on Deutschlandfunk. The vaccination plans in Germany are such that only 3m people (out if ~80m) will be vaccinated within Q1 of 2021, and there is no expectation that this will have a visible impact on infection rates.

My guess is that the situation will be similar in other European countries, and the rest of the world will fare even worse in that respect. Therefore, I think SNG can afford to finish P3 trials towards the end of Q1 or even in Q2 without too much worry that the pandemic will be over.

I'm against Brexit. I love other nationalities and French wine (and Italian wine, and Spanish wine, and German wine...).

BTW, that 'fantastic' deal BoJo negotiated with Japan is worse than the deal already in place and still applicable during the transition period. Make no mistake: the UK will be worse off as a result of Brexit, whether or not there is a deal. Of course, GGP shareholders don't need to worry about any of that, as any future import taxes on Porsches and Lambos will be offset by the rise in the SP. :-)

Indeed, just reading about Südtirol/Alto Adige and its wines. Now I want to try their local grape varieties (and wines made if them).

Apparently, a lot of Nero d'Avola grapes are exported from Sicily and used by winemakers in other parts of Italy and even abroad. My former colleague - Italian and a wine lover himself - introduced me to that grape variety several years ago. I'm amazed these wines aren't more popular in the UK.

Oh, I forgot to mention my secret vin moelleux: Pacherenc De Vic Bilh. It sounds Vietnamese but it comes from the French Pyrenees region. Beats Sauternes, at least in my humble opinion!

I've had Nebbiolo just once, I think, and I liked it very much. I'll try to find a bottle here.

I wasn't aware of Italian Gewürztraminer. Where in Italy does it grow? Being a colder-climate grape, I'd expect it to be Südtirol. Is that right?

Nero d'Avola is probably my favourite red. I like Pinot Noir, both in its French style and - even more so - as Spätburgunder from Germany (it tends to contain less alcohol, typically 11.5%). Recently, I even found a few very good ones from South Africa.

Among classic reds, I' d go for St Emillion or Rioja (Crianza or Reserva). I used to be a fan of Côtes du Rhône wines, especially Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but they have been steadily increasing in heat, from a typical 12.5% alcohol back in the 1990s to 14.5%-15% today, and I find that it isn't that well balanced these days.

White wines can be fun, too! My all-time favourite is Gewürztraminer from Alsace, especially its 'vendanges tardives' version. Alsace Pinot Gris (also vendanges tardives) is great too. A fairly recent discovery is Vouvray.

I'm starting my preparations for Sunday night (Newcrest report + MRE + tipple; no Scotch eggs). I think I'll go for a bottle of Greco di Tufo: it's a nice, not-too-dry white wine which reminds me of Swiss wines (they aren't fizzy wines but have just that tiny bit of natural sparkle). I'll keep the champagne for SWAG results.

What are your tipple plans?
