With the AZN vaccine saga unravelling, the last thing Mr Soriot would like now is for SNG001 to prove highly effective against Covid, given that AZN had their hands on it back in 2014 and let it slip away.

It's an interesting article but it demonstrates clearly that the perceived 'intelligence' is simply a function of highly dynamic evolutionary processes, with the RNA being less stable and more prone to mutations than the DNA. So, RNA viruses such as coronaviruses simply mutate more easily and that allows them to adapt; that adaptation is not a conscious process, so one cannot really talk of 'intelligence' in its usual sense.

What happened to that deal? Did AZN walk away from SNG001!

It makes me think of Newcrest Mining who surveyed the Havieron deposit a few decades ago and then walked away, only for GGP to snap it and now strike a JV with Newcrest to finish the exploration and mine Havieron because it turns out to be a tier 1 gold deposit.

Honestly, BoJo could do something about this drug. If they are ready to buy millions of vaccine doses based on unreviewed data selected and massaged to fit the narrative, they could back SNG001.
