Precision 255 days into its trial in humans and still going…..

Traditionally, clinical trials have been required to contain 'stopping rules', which are essentially a set of criteria that specify when dosing an individual subject, cohort and/or trial should be suspended. They are usually based on the occurrence and number of severe and serious adverse reactions.

No adverse reactions keep going Sir Al.. :)

Which could damage the reputation of Avacta’s lead cancer trial AVA6000.

Avacta’s buy out of Leeds university spin out - Aptuscan in 2012 for 1.5 million has to be one hell of a shrewd move by Avacta.
This enabled Avacta to grow the affimer reputation which then sealed the deal with Bach Biosciences/Tufts for precision.

Big Pharma must be kicking themselves.

Another observation on presentation.AS provided a list of different cancers,In order of the amount of Fap they produce.

The cancer that produces the most Fap alpha is CUP.

Now, I didn’t know what CUP was so I googled it:

Carcinoma of unknown primary (CUP) is a rare disease in which malignant (cancer) cells are found in the body but the place the cancer began is not known. Cancer can form in any tissue of the body. The primary cancer (the cancer that first formed) can spread to other parts of the body.

But one thing,I remembered was Dr Natalie Cook leader of the Christie Manchester AVA6000 trial.
She tweets constantly about CUP.
So it looks like Manchester Christie must be working on CUP with AVA6000.

Makes sense for each hospital to work on one type of cancer each.

Just got home and listened to presentation:
A Very up beat AS.

One thing I noticed which he announced first, was the Lab move from Cambridge to White City London.

Why would they want to spend money on relocating Labs to White city when they are counting the pennies to complete AVA6000 trial and re-configure Affidx.

The clue is the slide of White city’s other tenants.

Novartis and Takeda

Novartis already produce a doxorubicin drug Hexal

And Takeda’s valcade comes off patent this year.

So Avacta are working in the same campus with a safer doxorubicin and a safer version of valcade.

I wonder…………
