I suspect this may account for the small pop last week.

This deal maximises flexibility for funding the company going forward, including the option of continuing development into more expensive phases. It also gives maximum opportunity for structuring deals and rearranging the capital structure at the point of such deals.

I think the full proof will take longer, but the way the wind is blowing seems quite clear. The share price was derisory at nearly twice the price…..so I suspect this may be the start of a much-overdue re-rating over summer, especially with thin markets.

Everything is pointing to a major corporate event in Q4 or the first half of 2025. Are they going to self fund the future (with eg a NASDAQ listing and a raise and/or merger) or is someone going to take out the whole company first? We will find out in the coming months.

For what it is worth, I think Scancell is now within 9 months of being taken over. If, as Lindy plainly believes, Scancell’s science is on the cusp of enabling effective and general cancer vaccines to be developed, then it must make sense for big pharma to pitch in before one of their competitors does. The next results of both trials will be in - and the future of the antibody side should be clearer.

Why wait any longer?

Whoever it is, they are keen to stay out of sight. That suggests other deals are planned in that area, whether or not they involve Scancell.

The seven month period and the options attached are also very relevant IMO…..

The influence of the media on perception of cancer vaccines must be quite substantial. If you listened to Fergus Walsh and the BBC you might think they were all personalised vaccines and the way cancer was going to be cured for everyone was to send a biopsy to BioNtech in Germany and then receive a dozen shots of specially-designed MRNA-based personal vaccine…..and Bingo!

Whatever they are seeking to do commercially, I would expect that to be negotiated over the summer and for deal announcements to emerge alongside some proper trial updates in September.

Very lightly-attended AGM with the only shareholders being me and the former Chairman’s brother. Full slate of Directors and advisers though.

VN licence extensions going well and “highly confident” due to recent site visits from the ministries. Should lead to an increase in 2P.

The amalgamation of the Egypt licences sounds like it won’t get finalised until mid-2025.

125 Prospect A is very exciting, with even majors who have turned it down thinking it is oil and (partly because of the multiple stacked plays of different types) think it will get drilled. Quite a long well, even relative to CNV basement, due to depth etc.

I also got the sense that some sort of corporate activity is on the horizon, judging in part from the background being preferred for the new CEO.

What will be interesting is to see whether they have immediate plans for making use of this certification. And whether it might make them an attractive acquisition target.
