great news... IWEB has officially confirmed they will have the scrip. See their website corporate action copied below.... FIDELITY is still saying they do not allow the scrip, trying to brush me off. I have started a formal complaint against FIDELITY and told them I will go all the way to the OMBUDSMAN for loss of gain/earnings.... If you are a FIDELITY customer now is the time to call them and complain, the more we are the better chances of success... HL, BARCLAYS, AJBELL, IWEB, INTERACTIVE, ETC ETC they have all said they allow the scrip....

2020 Final Dividend.
Hammerson Plc (Hammerson) has announced its intention to pay shareholders a Final Dividend of 0.2p, with an Enhanced
Scrip Dividend Alternative of 2p, for every share held at market open on the ex-entitlement date 1st April 2021.
Given the significant difference in value between the Cash Final 2020 Dividend and the Enhanced Scrip Dividend Alternative,
we will be electing for the Enhanced Scrip Dividend Alternative for all shares held within our Nominee.
You will therefore receive New shares instead of cash in respect of the 2020 Final Dividend should you retain your holding and

What it seems has happened is that the mms pushed the price up during the week which counted for the scrip share price to be set, so that we investors would get less shares on the scrip, and now forced the price down again... so that if we sell we have to sell at cheaper price than the share scrip price... What do you think?

Lol.... change broker?,,, What kind of advice is that at this stage?... It is too late to change broker and get your dividend from a new broker... Most of you are not exactly newbies at investing/trading and you're telling me change broker?... Of course I would changed it if there was time for it.... so you don't know howl long can take to change a broker?... And if your shares are in an ISA you don't know how long can take that to transfer?... It's in the interest of all investors/traders to have scrips allowed as a basic service and not to accept nothing less....Yes if you lose your scrip now change your broker as soon as you can, but first complain to about loss of your scrip and demand compensation no matter what reasons they give you not to go all the way to the OMBUDSMAN.... it's the only way to have scrip as a basic service for ALL.... DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH

@latpulldown.... so please tell us, what would you personally do RIGHT NOW if your broker did not allow scrip dividend?

I have been complaining to IWEB and FIDELITY.... IWEB now will allow the scrip dividend.... FIDELITY yesterday told me they don't. So I have started a formal complaint about against FIDELITY.... I will go all the way to the OMBUDSMAN if complaint is reject. It is my opinion it is very important to complain WHATEVER reason they give for refusal. It is not only about this occasion, it's about all of us small investors with any broker to having right to a basic service like SCRIP dividends.... Scrips will happen all the time and if we do not have this right we will keep losing OUR money for no reason.... So do not stay passive. Complain to your stockbroker about loss of gains.... @l0101270..... In your case you might still be able to transfer on time - You got to check with both your current and future Broker if you will do it on time....Maybe you can open another account quickly and transfer HMSO stock only in there?....
In my case the HMSO shares are in an ISA with FIDELITY. with an ISA account you cannot transfer only one of your stocks in the account but you can only transfer the WHOLE account.... to transfer and Isa account can take 8 or 9 weeks.... If you are lucky, as boards are littered with posters who had problems in transferring ISAS... This is crazy... I have already put in a complaint with FIDELITY.... and I will go all the way to the OMBUDSMAN... and transfer out of FIDELITY for good...I urge people affected to complain about their broker no matter what kind of excuse or reason they brush you off with... Scrip is or should be part of the basic services provided by online brokers and we should not accept anything less

@buysell.... That's great news... I am sure what you say it's true... But why they told me the opposite on the phone yesterday?... Could you ask IWEB to publish their scrip undertaking as a HMSO on their site news?

Hi @THE DOVE... thanks... Yes, with HL you should be all right.... It looks like FIDELITY and IWEB are a real problem. That's because i cannot change to another broker quickly as the HMSO shares are on my ISAS accounts. With ISAs account you are not allowed to transfer a single stock but can only transfer your whole account. But I got to get out from FIDELITY and IWEB because everytime there is a scrip they don't allow you to take it

wadz.... FIDELITY and IWEB are not small players..... they are Finance giants... Everyone with an account with them should email them and also HAMMERSON REQUESTING you want the scrip... Why is HAMMERSON even defending these brokers with excuses of low margins, when all it's done electronically?... Don't let them brush you off!

Ivor, thanks again.... I phoned up FIDELITY and IWEB and they told me they were not allowing scrips on their platforms... It's incredible.... so any of their customers who is offered a chance to get a once in a while good scrip offer they can't... That's crazy... I am leaving them at the soonest as it's certain that scrip offers will keep happening

Thanks, Ivor.... I just emailed Hammerson Hope they reply quickly.... Shocking that a Finance giant like Fidelity does not offer scrip facility to their customers... For sure I won't be long with them

just been on the phone to Fidelity, the lady Jackie (or something sounding like that) just told me they do not allow scrip! Totally shocked.... Please let me know of anything I can do to force them!

I wonder whether this last pull back was the MMs engineered to deprive us of the value of the scrip

I got my shares on IWEB and on FIDELITY... do they give the scrip option automatically or do you have to apply?

What happens to the scrip if I am entitled to the dividend but I sell all my shares after but before the divi pay date?... Do I still get the scrip in shares or would I just get the divi in cash?

What's holding the shorties back? What's their rational now?

Not surprised if it gets to 35 at the closing bell
