RE: FIDELITY DOES NOT ALLOW SCRIP!!!!30 Mar 2021 10:15
FIDELITY have confirmed they are not allowing the scrip, see their message below. None of their reasons for not allowing it seems to be any different from other brokers allowing it (HL, IWEB, BARCLAYS, INTERACTIVE, AJBELL, ETC). I am now going to the Ombudsman about it... It's bye bye with FIDELITY from me, after decades as their customers I will be transferring my account from FIDELITY to INTERACTIVE investors.
MESSAGE FROM FIDELITY
Dear XXXXXXXXX
Thank you for your time on the telephone on 29 March regarding the script offer on HAMMERSON ORD. I'm sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the outcome of your complaint.
As discussed, as we're a pooled nominee we're unable to offer script shares and can only offer a cash dividend. We do offer the ability to reinvest the cash dividend using the reinvestment option online. I've passed on your feedback to the relevant department about the fact that we don't offer script shares. We appreciate customer feedback to help us with the development of our products and services.
I appreciate that this information has come as a disappointment, but I hope that you find it useful in clarifying the situation.
