@wellington, you have to be quite smart on this (and invested in the detail). Docket 1319 are the advisors to be board of directors, and in touch with other debtors advisors and now evidence of “communication” (letters) with creditors advisors, here Weil in the USA

On Page 12 of this docket from last night is an indication of an “offer” from Cineplex, this makes it my view they are in the bidding mix and/or the litigation may go away somehow.

I would take as a positive, ie day before closure on expressions of interest, and filing under court seal has been done to ensure bidders don’t pull out if their identities are revealed and more being to ensure an actual competitive bidding process is sustained

… dockets filed overnight with the court have asked the court to ensure identities of bidders are filed under seal and only undone on court say so (so fat chance of us getting to hear and it obviously wasn’t Cineworld who leaked about Vue). The docket does also say they are still in active discussions with numerous potential bidders

Also another docket says they are looking at a uk implementation plan, which may involve an FCA suspension and delisting of shares.

Dockets 1321 and 1319

… don’t expect an RNS on the morning of February 17 or even next Monday, next thing we are likely to hear unless there are leaks is after 2nd part of status conference on 21st and we may not get an RNS until after March 2nd when plan is due to be submitted to court ..

Sybil, an unsecured creditor where the amount payable is anything between zero and C$1bn plus interest… the amount payable is currently zero as it is on appeal for which Cineworld may win, lose or settle in the range … don’t be surprised if there is a settlement somewhere or even revival of a merger …

Correction Sybil, you know me now … an unsecured creditor but conditional or contingent on very many factors as to whether an amount payable will finally crystallise and what that amount is … so a “conditional or contingent unsecured creditor…”

Important to get terminology correct Sybil, whether accounting, IFRS or other inferred terminology…

@wellington, I think the risks associated with cineplex may be rescinding, or they may be equally looking for a way to settle the litigation rather than it “hang over” old co Cineworld… they requested an appearance at the status conference last week with the judge but time scheduled ran out of time so guess they will ask to make representations on the 21st ..
