Amitsoq is the probable contender for a first past the post JV because we are only one season from JORC , only after that will the resource be taken seriously by potential JV partners and the graphite is going to be in increasing demand. Great position to be in.

@WelshTrader I've a new colleague joining in a few days time who used to be an iron ore commodity trader. I'll mine him for info. Route to market is one factor , but also not just grade (which he says is world class) but the level of processing that's needed to get it ready for charging into a blast furnace. Pellets being the most desirable. Given the discontinuous nature of the Melville Bay prospect, then it would be sensible to ship it with minimal processing rather than triplicate plant in a harsh environment. So the plus side is .. probably high grade, on the minus side : only minimal processing feasilble and short shipping season disfavours it. RIO would probably be the JV partner for this.

It would be possible, given that the required infrastructure for Llechfraith unmined lode to achieve production without a JV , wouldn't you agree ? I'd imagine Clogau would be very interested to enter into a takeoff agreement.

@HonestJ : "Dilution time again", you seem to have difficulty in accepting that well raised (i.e. relatively little discount to SP placing shares) when used to fund progress as opposed to maintaining overheads is not dilutive. Yes there are more slices of the pie, but the pie gets bigger too.

@dontpanic, yes if you look at the last real rerate (when I initially bought in at 0.13), it followed First Equity's Research Note. I would guess that the BOD are waiting for plenty of news that justify a fundamental price shift before ordering the next research note.

interesting you should mention the aeromagnetic data. I've seen some drones being used for it in russia. That looks like a very cost effective way of doing it, if some follow up aeromagnetic investigation was required.

I can see Tesla would be a credible JV / offtake partner in the future. However if we bring a graphite resource that's achieved JORC and has the necessary exploitation permits in place, then we are bringing more to the table and would be in a position to negotiate better terms which would be more valuable than the reduction in cash needed to carry out one year's exploration that is necessary to achieve the above conditions.

when you compare ALBA with other similar companies market capitalisation compared to their assets (and those projects development) 0.7 to 0.9 p a share would not be unreasonable at this time. It may be "placing fear" that's holding back sentiment. I would be confident that there will be placings. Is it something to fear ? If its just to maintain overheads then yes, but ALBA are proactive in progressing exploration in a methodical and efficient manner given the constraints of travel restrictions. Having the funds to invest to make the whole pie bigger will mean that there will be more slices, but each slice will be bigger.

Jason mentioned last week or the week before that they were awaiting samples. I believe that Greenfield were adding some machinery to the POSP that would allow them to process somewhat "muddier" sands, as that's what they expect to encounter on the major part of the Tomco Lease. Tweaking now is better than stopping production later, they are taking a sensible right first time attitude and ultimately will benefit Quadrise as well as Greenfield.

The management have pushed forward most projects except Limerick as fast as feasible, which they plan to further explore this year. With respect to Greenland, they have stated they intend to progress with priority Amistoq and Thule Black Sands as a priority. Amistoq is one season away from JORC, so quite feasibly 2 years until production , its climate allows for round the year operations. When it achieves JORC, then the usual reflection in its contribution to share value is x3 of its share price contribution prior to JORC. The Greenland travel restrictions are scheduled to be eased at the end of this month and Feb21. TBS has a shorter exploration season due to its high latitude however in reflection of Bluejay's neighbouring GF has stated that they wish to concentrate Greenland efforts on these two projects. Melville Bay and Ingerfield are longer term projects, which is reflected in their SP contribution being their aquisition cost + cost of exploration so far. Again, due to their high latitudes, the season is likely to be short. The BOD decided to concentrate in 2020 on Wales, which was a project it was feasible for them to progress under the circumstances.

There has been a marked disconnect between SP and fundamental value.

A visitor centre is more likely to get the whole mine's planning approval to go more smoothly, as more people can get employed and that is a key factor in determining decisions. It's a policy I would wholeheartedly support.

The history of the site is that it was previously mined from 1914 until 1925 where 6000 Tonnes was 21% was won. In 1915 Bernard & Starch estimated 200,000 to 495,000 T at 20% graphite. It is not thought that core drilling was used, but used surface mapping to infer the deposits. A local government funded report was conducted by Danish company A/S Nielsen in 1986. A further report was produced in 2016, “Review of potential resource critical minerals in Greenland” M Stensgaard pg.28 . From this, 250,000 T reserve is documented. As such, although it is not a JORC resource it has been previously mined and explored so NPV analyses and comparables are valid methods of valuation.

Basically Amitsoq's JORCd value (only one season away) is likely to exceed the current market capitalisation of the entire company.
