Interesting article. Kod has strong fundamentals and I’m hoping of a significant resource upgrade. Just need patience (which I am lacking in!) but for me nothing has changed, spod $ is holding at $3.3kpt and kod has forecasted $2kpt so just waiting on this funding. We should be close, Mali wants this to happen as they’ll make a ton of money!

There are rumours it’s something to do with what tax they are having to pay on the DSO. This is an unsubstantiated twitter rumour so wouldn’t read into it too much but I’m pretty sure it is all to do with DSO which is a route kodal isn’t taking. We will see come wed.

Also for any newbies here there are often derampers saying how dangerous Mali is etc. however a lot of the trouble is in central and north Mali. South Mali is a much safer environment.

I often can’t be bothered replying but for newbies it’s out of order spreading false information. Zimbabwe came LAST in attractiveness globally, see below. Mali of course we all know does have its issues but don’t come over here and pretend/lie that Zimbabwe is a safe country to invest in…it’s the issues all African countries face.

Also I’ve checked the Mali mining database and there have been no new licenses granted since 25th November 2022, like the media said. Now the new mining code has been completed I am expecting the flood gates to open with new licenses from other miners…no doubt there is a big queue to sort through so the Mali government will be v busy processing these. If it’s done in chronological order it’s going to take a while to get to kodal. If it’s done in level of importance and key relationships, kodal could be towards the front (again this doesn’t really count as a new license it’s a transfer but still needs to be processed). Who knows…but fundamentals remain exceptionally strong, just some admin to finalise then the funds should be with us and then boooooom.

Good question sharespy I’m not so sure, I don’t think the Mali government would need to stump up any extra cash to cover cost of build, I think this is basically a way of saying this in coming out of our ground so therefore we want a share of the revenue/profits.

Nice one mercman also I don’t think this is a bad thing. We’re giving up 2.45 per cent free to locals, and the other 9.8 per cent would have to be bought, I’d imagine at fair market price, so this isn’t a big deal for me. It incentivises the government to be speedier granting further licenses, eg gold exploration license, approving floatation designs etc

Just been reading what’s been happening at Atlantic Lithium as it shows there are often a few wider issues in African mining. I think that project will come good eventually, they have an amazing resource but it shows how important having the mining license is. We have all the required permits and a license until 2033 plus a decent relationship with the Mali government. Even if there is another extension I’m genuinely not fussed as we are so close now and Bernie has done the due diligence and worked for many years getting it to this stage.

Couldn’t yet find LMLB registered but it’s not as slick as companies house.

Great interview. Bernie has said that the new company has been registered LMLB, that’s a v important and integral part moving forwards. I have had a look online and can’t find any info stating it has, but I’m no expert here. Next step is to get the mining license transferred. I’ve actually found the license that need to be transferred to the new company. It’s below. Let’s just hope the Mali government do it soon, hard to say how long it will take. Anyway some great progress being made👍
