From my point of view, Shanta was hit very unfairly and hit hard by the whole saga between ACA and the Tanzanian government, quite unfairly in my opinion. Shanta at that stage was just ready to reach greater heights when the fall-out began. Since then there have been many positives and this bodes well for the future, imho.

POG $1316 today as the USD stages a slight recovery. I guess $1320mis probably resistance barrier? So now do we slide down or is there Umph to go further? I guess time will tell? As for PAF, if you are not in a hurry, I can still only see this share going higher. So what can sink the sp? A labour dispute but, improbable I think, POG heading south? PAF wanting more cash from PI's? zwane coming up with something new, but this I doubt as he is checkmate! So over-all not much and, more upside with Elikhulu coming on stream. If POG progressies upwards, although PAF might be volatile on a day to day basis it is likely to be heading back UP towards 20 pence, IMHO.

Lennie, my thoughts are not based on fact but, I am positive about CMCL. To think how well they did under mugabe's rule, LOL! It is a share that behaves and trades in a most peculiar way. So it is really difficult to predict, I think. But sure will be an upward trend if all targets are met and POG keeps going up. Would be great if we do hit 1000 by year end! What we do know: we have to gold reserves, we have a new shaft to get to resource and we are on target to sort the smaller problems to deliver 80,000 while POG hopefully goes up. For me this is a kind of banking/dividend share!

USD continually weakening and POG/S both on a good run. Seems like the general consensus is that this is going to be a trend and this is good for silver. Sincerely hope this is positive for Hoch's after a good run at the end of December! LOL. Volatile share this! I don't seem to understand its movements!

Would be nice to have a flurry of good news early in 2018 on latest developments for IRR. We have steadily declined from about 30th October. How about some Chad good news, IRR? LOL

What's not to like from the RNS on a quick read. Towards 80,000Oz in the next 3 years. Good cash position, nice dividend! Good management, POG going up and hopefully Zim political situation now improved.

Lennie, did you make a buck with the retrace from 415? I did not and just held my shares waiting for the POG to improve. Now, I wonder if we can see some sudden spurts, just the way this share behaves anyway, as the POG moves north in early 2018. Perhaps the reason could be the weakening of the USD? Not sure why this should be and is the USD so easily manipulated?

Mulder, I think we could see a continuation or the rekindling of a commodities bull run and especially in gold and silver. At least I hope so, LOL. Long time waiting.... Other stocks are at an all time high, perhaps the NYSE cannot be fuelled only by the FANGS? If its a PM run, I favour the likes of well run companies, producing gold at low cost and in favourable destinations. I fancy Caledonia (just not the jurisdiction but immense improvement on that front with the dismissal of mugabe), Also Hummingbird for various reasons. Hochschild has also performed well of late, but volatile. But then are'nt they all? Another gold share set to make a comeback is Shanta gold. Cheers and just my opinion.

An attempt to explain the drop; because of strengthening of the Rand, drop in dividend as compared to previous years and perhaps outstanding shares in Elikulu not yet in production? How does that sound? If POG continues to rise and Cyril fails to sort his party as the New year unfolds, Rand will drop again. If POG continues to rise, the leverage here will be quite something, particularly when Elikulu produces its gold. Strong buy on dips for those who are a little patient.

Gold $1307.5 at it peak today and USD below $92,5! Will this continue for us to see a gigantic commodity rally in early 2018? Shanta is sure to make a very good come back in 2018!

Should definitely have PAF on NewForestLad's list. It could really, really surge if there is no mine worker strikes, the production takes off beyond 200,000Oz, good management continues and the SA Mining environment improves such as the scraping of zwane's laws for the wealthy few in charge! SA has enormous mining potential - trillions of dollar possibilities ahead of some major mining countries but this cannot come to fruition without investment and laws that encourage miners!

Had a look for new news on PAF but, cannot see anything significant to account for this sudden dip. All still looks good for an upsurge as PAF was last above 22pence more than a year ago. POG almost 1300, and as you guys have stated below, all the little pigs are lined up in row, so to speak! A placing in the oft as Mulder says is a possibility and markets never like this thought.

Wonder what the thunder bolt was that pushed this downwards? Perhaps it will all become obvious as time will tell. My gut feeling is some major manipulation of sorts to suit themselves. Who has short this share only to buy back as it bounces back up as gold passes 1300 and all other indicators look so good for PAF?

Gold price is Toy-toying above $1295 at the moment. Wonder if with an apparently weak USD we will break 1300 soon and head Northward. I bought a few PAF today as I could not resist the punt!
