I cannot see the rand remaining as strong as it is currently. Too many problems and skeleton's in the cupboard is the reality. SA has so many issues to sort and where and when does Cyril start? Appointing new ministers is my guess? Then they will find out how deeply entrenched the problems are in each and every one department. Then there is the Western Cape Drought...... Rand will weaken again and POG looks to go northwards, imho. I definitely want to top-up at these levels! Future of gold mines looks positive.

The question is: Why is the market, usually forward looking, not seeing the potential here like us like-minded PI's? Are we missing something? What? If Steinhoff could be such a disaster, without anybody noticing, what really happens behind closed doors at paf, hey?

Barchart says the following: The market is approaching oversold territory. Be watchful of a trend reversal. We're out of favour, punishment for stronger ZAR, as I cannot detect and other reason besides the recent results. I think labour disputes have been sorted? Still want to confirm this is indeed true. Anyway, onward to Elikhulu and a revision of the latest mining charter. Perhaps there will be carrots for the gold mining industry?

POG seems to quietly on the up. Today at approx $1350 and USD Index about 89. I never considered nationalisation, as I would have thought the previous mining minister's game was to gather only for the bad apples, LOL! Make free enterprise pay the way for the entrenched BEE guys!

I note a few 50K buys over the last few days. POG has also gone up. Is this our turn here to see the sp react?

I wonder if the new man, CR, will take a grip? He has a lot on his plate! Perhaps fire zwane and improve relations between the Ministry of Mining and the Chamber of Mines? This could help investors decide PAF is a solid bet going forward, imho. Attract foreign investment in SA and resurrect a depressed SA Mining sector?

Yip, Mulder. This is an opaque game, I'm afraid. But solid fundamentals always win over spin. It is predicted that the POG will have it's next leg up and this must be quite soon. Already the strengthening of the USD seems weak, fears of inflation in the US, the effect of US Debt (Trump will double the 20 trillion to 40), Chinese moves to encourage gold and their own currency as payment for oil undermines the USD, imho. There are so many possible black swans popping their heads out! In SA, I now wish the anc get their act together........

Nice tick up so far today and some good buys on the LSE Share Trades by the look of things.

IsolateBod, I sincerely hope Cyril uses all his intellect and negotiation skills to get SA up and running again. I remember him more than hold his own negotiatiing with the last government and the likes of senior Anglo American representatives before that. If I remember correctly, I vaguely remember that he is invested in PAF, is it via a trust? He must understand that SA has a huge mineral potential and that this could employ thousands and bring in money into the state coffers. Just get rid of zwane for a start! Then appoint a somebody competent. 11% tick up not too shabby.

A good old tick upwards, nearly 10%! PAF deserves it! I bought a good chunk this morning after bailing out of RRS. As Mulder always points out, the fundamentals are excellent here. I still think both a rise in the POG (currently on a predicted down trend for a short while, I hope) and Elikhulu - particularly - will be the main trump card (nothing to do with the USA!). Then if Cyril get's his act together, fires zwane, there could be renewed fireworks for mining in SA!

Agree, with a little patience, Elikhulu is the secret to success and making money here! Hopefully no placings?
