One thing for sure, share prices seem to have minds of their own. PAF does not deserve to be at 7p down from a high well above 20p! Local politics having this much of an effect? Wonder what Allan Gray thinks at this stage? POG just muddling along at about $1320 or there abouts.

Visitor, I note your comments on PAF. Just be careful, Tanzania right now looks like a "Safer Jurisdiction" versus the southern tip of Africa where there is talk about land redistribution without compensation, a sure plunge to the bottom judging by historical events in Zimbabwe! Mining investment will be affected, for sure! Shanta is by far a better bet! POG moving sideways! Maybe with Tillerson's departure there is more uncertainty of US policies? Uncertainty and a weak USD is sadly good for gold!

Visitor, I meant the performance of gold and silver shares of late. We could actually do with gold priced much higher as many predicted $1400/Oz (year end?) but seem to be suppressed. Any little movement in the USD seems to hold the POG back. It's as if investors are in a feeding frenzy elsewhere, crypto's and Marijuana perhaps?

At least the week has ended in the Blue for PAF! Commodities have been dire of late! Surely, our time will come?

Hope you are right, Des? POG lingering at 1320 this afternoon and the USD Index around 90. Dire time for Au and Ag of late despite many positive predictions, LOL! I guess our time will come! We need a radical trump to stir things up!

Anybody know the explanation of why there are trades of 2 or 8 shares? I'd like to understand the motive and reasons why? Are they part of conversions into ISA's by any chance? PAF would be peanuts for the likes of Harmony etc... I agree!

There seems to be ongoing (minor) turmoil in Zim as lady grace instigates her husband to support a new opposition party at 90 odd years of age! This and other lame measures to protect his 21 farms, some of them he sublet to white farmers. So no sticking to the one man, one form principle for him, LOL! Questions about where the missing diamond billions have gone to in Zim? The next elections are going to be interesting! Good thing CMCL is far away from the action safe in the bush SE of Bulawayo!

I would agree CR understands a thing about mining having been on both sides! Let's hope it remains bullish with actions to attract mining investment, hence jobs and tax revenue etc...

Mulder, just wondering again why there are no obvious approaches for PAF? I guess there has still not been a clear sign that the mining minister is fired and a new direction for SA mining sought. Just guesswork at this stage. Also, when CR is still adamant to repossess land without compensation, where does this end? You could lose your newly acquired mine, LOL! Who would want to invest in an environment still rattled by corruption and the tricks of BEE etc...

Just had an another look at Evander bought by PAF from Harmony in Feb 2013; Evander Gold Mines* South Africa 95Koz of Au production per annum Head grade: 5.7g/t (Including development waste ore) LOM: > 16 years Reserve: 28.4Mt @ 8.32g/t (7.6Moz) Resource: 92.4Mt @ 9.78g/t (29.0Moz) In spite of all the problems with producing gold from here, there is still a lot of resource down there! Anybody know if there are offers for this resource? I guess future technology may help here, robots etc...? What does Allan Gray see, that PAF's future is bright? Barberton and Elikhulu Tailings?

Always sad in a dangerous business and sincerely hope there are no safety concerns exposed during the investigation. We were just climbing again in our own mysterious way.

Just a bit more than �6,000 share buys today ( 2 sales on the LSE!) and we are up 3,70%. How does one explain this? Is it happening elsewhere? I have been happy to hold as a piggy bank paying a good dividend regularly and note CMCL does not go down when the board is red with other commodities! I like that!

I very much doubt that land confiscation is part of Cyril's grand plan. Imagine the effect on foreign investors? He needs to win over foreign investors. If he did confiscate farming land, it would also kill agricultural production in its tracks. The agricultural debt is huge, I think in the region of R160 Billion (?). And who carries this land debt, probably SA institutions and this would decimate them? Anyway, where would confiscation stop? It would be madness - instability and possibly civil war.... I sincerely hope the rot stops here. A good buying opportunity right now...

On a quick read, a nice RNS. But sp more than 5% down. So where is the catch? What did the market not like?
