The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Stocktracker are you calling me a basher or shorter???? Oh how little you know me!! I think plenty of people on here wouldn’t say that! Wendy is a great person and an asset at AFC sand I wouldn’t want to see her in any form of problem for God’s sake!!
Beatquo I would refrain from repeating on here any conversation with people or a named individual from AFC. This could be mis-construed and place the person in a difficult position. A personal conversation should remain just that .. Personal!!
I used Barclays this year and it was a royal balls ache!! They charged me full buy sell rates and cost me a fortune... I complained like hell and it was going to lose me £2000 worth of shares!!
I managed to get it all reversed out and done properly in the end but took a great deal of stress!!
Banaman
Please come forward and collect your prize for the most useless unconstructive messages on the board today....
Stop bitchng and moaning and if you don’t like the state of affairs or see no value in AFC then do yourself and us a favour and sell up and move on and give the rest of us a break! Perhaps your 8 year old could also give you a few lessons on behaviour!!
Mucksy
As though this hasn’t been seen before and published by a disgruntled Employee and now regurgitated by a disgruntled shareholder!!!
Employees are about the worst source of feedback on their empoyers... I wouldn’t give a glowing report of my past two employers even both being major Top Tier Financial institutions everyone wants to join!!!
I think we have done the right thing here insomuch requesting from AFC an Investor Day. This was an agreed commitment by the BOD from the AGM to resurrect this, so really they should be obliged to do
So.
We have now gently (I would imagine a few have responded) reminded them to do this and at least give them an opportunity to come back with a DATE. I personally do not want a full demonstration like in previous year but just an update with a Q&A session.
If they fail in this request then by all means we should consider alternative actions such as shareholder action groups!! In the meantime try to keep calm and see what response we get to the ID is my vote!
Yes, but one step at a time.. request for an investor day only went in late last week (Thurs/Fri by some). Atleast give the company an opportunity to respond or not first!!! May not need a sledgehammer to crack the nut!!
IWTO whilst I support the sentiment here I think it is a little premature! Since many have asked for an opportunity (which was a Follow up/ Commitment from the AGM) for an Investor day...I think we need to give AFC BOD an opportunity to respond first to their request. I think as many people as possible should email the company for the investor day first .... failure for that then escalate your proposal!
As we’ve had no feedback from the Sept meeting it’s good to know that our leader did actually make it!!

I blame this squarely with John Rennocks policy!! What the F**K is going on???? Whether you believed AB or not at least he had the balls to keep us and the market periodically updated by the Quarterly newsletter!! I feel we are now a rudderless ship with no detailed plan or knowing what direction are are going in!!! I’m certainly now lost...and nobody here really knows since the AGM where we are wrt: 1. Product development / performance metrics 2. Planned market penetration/strategy 3. Manufacturing agreement / are Denora still even present?? All we are told is will notify you when we have Price Sensitive news.... it’s B/S Mr Rennocks get your act with this company in order!!! We are a R&D company still ...the market let alone PIs expects news... without it we are in the mess we are ....but great for those who are buying in so cheap now (providing its not run into the ground first)!! Rant over!!! GLALTH
Guys I know it’s not quite the RNS we would like to see but it is another chink in the armour to be seen “to be seen” and would add some credibility!!! Also great opportunity for AB to network when in need for another role!!!!!!!!!
I agree. Although we are all hungry for News if we are going to now have a regime of SP sensitive RNS’ then I agree a delay of a week for the Southern Oil deal would have been better left until this time. For 9 months we had the MOU and without the upfront payment it was little more than that still!!! Why even have a delay in upfront fee? ....why not on signing!!! Surely if it was to cover expenses it wasn’t that large!! Having said that they must have been 99.999% confident of the payment because imagine if it had failed!!!.... that would have told the market that we can’t/won’t ever pull together any deal and the SP would have crashed IMO!!! What is it with this company and IR ... a lot still has to be learnt!!
