in their most recent presentation they have 5 tier 1's they are focusing on and Cascabel wasn't one of them.
They gave us a brief mention but I guess if they were keen on making a bid it wouldn't be good tactics to be saying how good they thought it was at this point , before a bid.
It would make sense with their black caving skills if they took this on, maybe in a JV with BHP.
They emphasised in their presentation the importance of mining costs over every other factor when considering their options about assets. With the potential CAPEX savings we have at Cascabel we should be alright on that front when the costings are confirmed.
If I recall correctly it was a Newcrest member of the board who said "thats a mine right there", after the initial MRE. We have come a long way since then so the resource is almost certainly now an option in their analysis.
Think we just need more patience before it all kicks off, I personally don't think we will take this to production, despite the rumblings from Nm that he wishes to do so.
