SOLG given a good mention re their sustainable approach, I found it poignant that Nm recently said how he was planning on being there for the next hundred years and not just to savage the place by ripping out the high grade core.

We have clearly taken the matter very seriously, which is a necessity in view of the various protest groups.

I also think Jason Ward is correct in his analysis of the percentage of people against it being small, its always going to happen anywhere to some extent where mining is involved.

Lets say we have given ourselves the best possible chance to get this mine built with government and peoples support, and then crack on from there, well done NM for this I say!

Most other explorers, NM genuinely has set up a project where we employ local people in numbers ( around 700 currently) and is working to build a relationship with the people and the government, as such, we may well go all the way with this after all, despite this not being the preferred outcome for many of us.

You have mis understood my reasoning completely and not understanding how it works and where we are at, that's all, not shooting down your views, just correcting you on how you think it is.

The poster suggested we sell Cascabel, which BN would be included now I believe?, and move on to produce other projects.

I simply pointed out how long it takes to prove up a tier 1 as was the case with Cascabel/Alpala, and that again it would prob be bought before we take it to production. I meant this as a positive as it s certainly the way I want us to go, and bring some realism to the point made as if we would just move on and ready to produce somewhere else. I didn't include BN as its now seen as part of the Cascabel project as boot strapping it, as far as I'm aware?

This is the first project of 12 and its been 6-7 years. You seem to assume selling Cascabel will make it easier for us to produce another project that hasn't even started drilling yet? tier1's take years to discover, as the case with cascabel.
I think your view is too simplistic and over optimistic.

You say if they bought Cascabel we would produce another project, how so? when 6-7 years down the line it gets bought again when we've done all the hard work.

From their recent presentation its clear they are an extremely well run company with their eye on the ball.

They specified 5 tier 1's, SOLG only got a small mention. This could have been strategic, after all if they were planning on buying or taking a bigger stake it kind of makes sense for them to play it down to get the best price?
They are the block caving experts too so if they do make a move for a bigger stake this would be a tremendous endorsement of what we have at Cascabel.
Big advantage IMO having not 1 but 2 majors with stakes and interest.

Ideally for me I'd like a third major to take a stake for ongoing costs leaving it wide open for a bidding war int he future and the chance of a JV between 2 majors.
IMO its very unlikely just 1 major will take this on.
Or, of course NM could indeed be planning to take this all the way and become an emerging copper/gold major in Ecuador, but why would the majors allow this to happen?

Its certainly getting very interesting and it has to be fairly soon, probably weeks, before we have too get some news, its been about 9 months since we got significant developments.

..in my experience for NCM to mention Hav as they did in their recent presentation about their projects and how they intend to grow.
If it does turn out as they expect they have already stated their intention and the importance of Hav

Just a matter of time IMO and fingers crossed Hav turns out as expected.

Very like they will buy this as they already ahem option to buy up to 70% I think? giving us a dividend to carry on exploring the others? Can't see them buying GGp outright in a full T/O as its not the way things are played out these days with the majors.

for CGP
1) carry on and pay their costs (millions) in the future
2) accept SOLG's offer of a 30% premium and get shares
3) wait for a bigger offer from someone else eg NCM (which is not guarantied)

unless I'm missing something number 2 looks the best way forwards for them?
