at this stage with regard to these rock samples and other projects, is that if a major where to buy SOLG in its entirety, they would get all these other projects thrown in.

Imagine the advantage this would give them over other majors going forwards for the next 20, 50, 100 years even.

What ever the short term political situation at the time, its likely IMO that Ecuador will eventually be mining friendly as their economy desperately needs it.

A major would be prepared to slowly prioriitse these other projects through early surveying and drilling, whilst at the same time devoting Cascabel, showing the country the benefits. maybe even selling some of them on if they chose to.

Certainly massive potential here but until we turn the huge potential into real value then we may stay stuck.

For me lack of funding news is the main factor keeping us down here.

At current levels I think we are vulnerable to a take over, and Nm's comments that we are dangerously low currently, would support this view.

I personally think it’s an exteme view to say a change of government in 2012 could stop mining all together
One could say this with a great many governments around the world including dare is say it the UK if labour get in, as an example. There are many mining countries around he world and none of them can be certain of a a big shift in government and you highlight Venezuela as an extreme example.
Surely it’s much more reasonabke to expect any new government would continue to support economic growth in their country as long as the necessary environmental/ sustainability factors
Obviously there is some political risk but catastrophising as you have is a tad over the top IMO
