TR, that’s we’re Vir/Glaxo states there treatment differ, they believe the theruptic antibody can prevent the virus damaging the lung area and fight the virus off, it also acts as a vaccine.
The vaccines are hopefully going to curtail a lot of infection but scientists believe Covid19 is something we have to live with and there are a need for both vaccines and antibodies, also VIR have many other infectious diseases to develop cures for.
I wouldn’t advise anyone to move away from GSK long term, but I believe there is a short term play here, because GSK is a giant in terms of market cap the price ain’t going to leap, VIR could double or triple on positive news.

VIR in which Glaxo probably has a 6/7 stake is releasing its financials tomorrow after the bell, trades on Nasdaq.
They are also updating the market with regard to the trials they & Glaxo are collaborating in and probably as a separate announcement are going to announce they have successfully completed the Covid-Ice trials.
The press are fully informed as to this but the news is embargoed awaiting the company making the announcement to the markets.
It should add a billion to GSK’d market cap, but the play i believe is sell GSK, buy VIR and with your profits switch back to the safer haven of GSK.

Rob/Carpy, unlike some here were not stupid people and know that ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’, so all we need is to see progress,, i maintain even as bad as the pandemic has been it has produced a unique set of circumstances for Stroll to acquire and introduce his & Moers strategy, and I say ‘introduce the strategy’, it will take time to ‘implement’ through to fruition.

I'm expecting news to be that all things considered AML has managed to steer its way through and continues to improve in every dept, and the sp moves to the next level, £25-£27.

TR, your right about the way people miss the details, they have averaged the price into a) seven days prior to the agreement being announced & b) 10 days after the announcement of the Covid-Ice trials, therefore we must assume that the announcement of the trials must be imminent & positive.
If VIR just sold GSK the shares without averaging in this way and the trial results were positive and the share price rocketed then there would be accusations of insider trading, if the results were not great then why would they do a deal in this way when they could get the shares cheaper after the announcement, GSK are committing more money because they like what they see.

Thanks Tiny, just not much happening at the mo, we’ve come through the excitement of ‘s... or bust’ and the company is on much better foundations, so a big bit of the initial excitement has gone.
Just waiting on results now, not expecting miracles just evidence that we are in the next stage of recovery.

I think they are about to announce that the phase 3 trials with the COMET-iCE COVID-19 trials with VIR Bio have been successfully concluded, this means they have developed the antibodies to both stop Covid and act as a vaccine.
VIR have just put out a announcement after the bell in America which ties GSK into investing a £120m and the price will be set for the shares by a weighted average of the price the shares trade at following the announcement of the conclusion of the trials.

The news won’t really impact on a giant like GSK at the moment, but it’s massive news for a small company like VIR.

VIR closing price was around $67 last night, could open up around $75.
The positive is GSK have expanded the original deal, so results must be really good.
