Daily Mail, lists the 6 most shorted shares & AML is never on that list, although on 212 the last few days it was listed as the most volatile.

My broker has heard IndustrialInvestor favoured the Chinese takeover by Geely, and when Stroll’s consortium won the takeover it was a uncomfortable situation.
It’s just business at the end of the day and they may have other interests which require investment.

I think two things are important with regards to IndustrialInvestor, first is the RNS that they no longer have a notifiable interest, that will be good for although they may still be a seller we know it’s drawing to a conclusion.
The other being the sacking/resignation of Bill Tame who was on the board as IInvestor were a major investor, and that was 100% part of the agreement when they took a 21% stake.
With 3% or less he has no right to be there.
That way the market doesn’t get spooked everytime there’s is a RNS saying they’ve sold again.

Soul, I’d agree they running it up & down, keeps the interest going.
I think accumulating shares at this level is the name of the game, not day trading.

They probably have sold much higher but if there selling millions eventually it’s going to weigh on the share price, no doubt they ease of the level they’re selling at if the price gets to low.
Think about it this way if they went to to a market maker and said we have 75m to sell right now, do you think the market maker would just buy £35m worth of stock, no chance, say the market maker did buy it and in a worst case scenario New York got bombed again and the market crashed, do you think a market maker would want to be sitting on that stock?
So big sellers and big buyers have to work buys & sells through the market, and to do that they will often have a relationship with a market maker.
Even the market makers are a wily bunch, one minute they’ll work together, next cut each other’s throats(and our throats all the time)
They are market makers not stock holders.

Soul, at other times if the market makers have a big buyer they will go the institutional investors and bid them on the stock, so it can cut both ways.

Soul, when a large seller like IInvest start selling they can’t just throw it on to the market, they normally place a certain amount of stock with the market makers and they may say for example give the instructions ‘sell 5m at 58p’, the market makers will then try and sell the stock and they are ‘protected’ at 58p, in other words the seller has to deliver the stock at 58p even if the price went to 70p, of course if it falls below 58p no business is done.
I feel without being arrogant a lot of people don’t understand that a price of say 58-58.5p is only good in ‘normal market size’ which is only 1000 shares, if you tried to sell say a million shares they could bid you 50p for example, as it’s way above nms.
That’s why big sales tend to go through at the end of the day and although it’s been filtered out through the day the sale will be reported as one transaction.
Of course if one market maker is read as a seller by the other market makers they will be very careful about purchasing a big line of stock.

I agree Paul, probably if anyone from the company reads it then it would be just to have a laugh.
I enjoy it but take it all with a pinch of salt.

As Havman said something isn’t right here, that IndustrialInvestor are ridiculous, how can you have someone on the board taking part in decisions then selling, Stroll should demand his resignation or sack him.

On the basis IInvest have 75m more shares they’re selling then we can only guesstimate how long that would take, I’d think in normal trading circumstances about a month.
But hopefully a bit of positive news would help to shift them in a rally.

The sooner IndustriInvestor and Tame go the better, no matter what the reason they are selling for they can’t have a director spouting in the board room whilst they are selling the stock.
I’ll bet the company and Tame will be gone by Friday.

Or that saying in the godfather ‘everytime I try to get out, I get pulled back in again’.
In this case down again!
