They probably have sold much higher but if there selling millions eventually it’s going to weigh on the share price, no doubt they ease of the level they’re selling at if the price gets to low.
Think about it this way if they went to to a market maker and said we have 75m to sell right now, do you think the market maker would just buy £35m worth of stock, no chance, say the market maker did buy it and in a worst case scenario New York got bombed again and the market crashed, do you think a market maker would want to be sitting on that stock?
So big sellers and big buyers have to work buys & sells through the market, and to do that they will often have a relationship with a market maker.
Even the market makers are a wily bunch, one minute they’ll work together, next cut each other’s throats(and our throats all the time)
They are market makers not stock holders.
