My view, if you aim to make money from a big move then you need to be aware the market needs to shake out sells, you'll attract "stink" and third rate pundits who can't stand the fact you are bagging.

So, Gazprombank hasn't thrown a tantrum and is working with POG on the restructure. I imagine our friends potentially buying up POG to take private have other ways to sort this temporary inconvenience, so this restructured debt arrangement (imagine via another bank) will want applied ASAP.

Key statements:

After the talks concluded, the Russian ruble surged over 10 per cent against the dollar. Turkey's foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said the talks had shown 'most significant progress'.

Vladimir Medinsky, Russian Chief Negotiator - "after today's meaningful discussion we have agreed on and proposed a solution, according to which the meeting of the heads of state is possible simultaneously with the foreign ministers initialling the treaty". Medinsky added that the "possibility to make peace will become much closer".

Ukrainian negotiator David Arakhamia said: "The results of today's meeting are sufficient for a meeting at the leaders' level."

Both sides positive on written proposal from Ukraine:

1. Neutral status, no NATO and reduced military in exchange for security guarantees from several nations.

2. Support from those security partners for future EU membership.

3. Crucially, Crimea and Donbas recognition and status left to future discussion; Crimea part of 15 year discussion.

Russia comments on possibility to end war very soon and set up meeting between Putin and Mr Z.

Strategic investors, beit an II or company don't buy, sell and trade like a PI. Totally different mindset. If an II or suitor reckons POGs worth 20p, 25p whatever, it'll be a content buyer all the way up. Similarly IIs don't care about missing the first 400% rise of a junior exploration stock - if the junior makes a good discovery and IIs see value, in they'll come. Your average PI buys and sells at any price, likely to shed shares on every lerch forward or back. For POG, there's sophisticated buyers present that aren't excited by 3p going to 4p, 4p going to 5p etc. It's just a value thing hence I am confident there's a climb ahead of us, which could be helped markedly by a positive RNS, should it be positive.

Only US and UK announced that. Nobody else because its unworkable and shows politicians have no idea how the market works. Gold has no counterparty and its sales untraceable. That's why you are hearing no more sensible commentary on the idea. It's very unlikely Russia will want to show weakness in selling its gold nor does it need to. Putin yesterday came out telling people that holding physical assets like gold and land was far smarter than the USD or words similar.
