I just bought a load more this morning with my SIPP ..

I took the opportunity to increase my holding significantly today - given the news of the T Rowe investment

The fact that it cost me double what I originally invested for the same amount of shares is another lesson in investing .. but heyho .. my initial investment was a definitely a measured risk (even perhaps a gamble?) ..

However the goal posts have moved significantly in a positive manner and with that comes the price .. less risk = higher price

I'm just not persuaded on the technicals (yet) ..

where's all the oil?

is it confirmed and verified?

and how is now being extracted and for how long?

I'm content with my view .. hence being "out on GEO"

My view from the sidelines remains that even though GEO holds their 78 % interest in PEL0094 in Walvis Basin; their asset is still at a very early exploration stage.

Walvis Basin remains as a frontier deepwater play; less explored than nearby offerings and geologically analogous, i.e sharing source rock and structural trends (AND all yet to be confirmed!!)

Recent discoveries in Orange Basin (Shell’s Graff, Total Energies’ Venus) have created interest in the nearby areas including Walvis which in fairness have made the majors think about new local areas

Activity by BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, and related juniors could see increased activity and drilling IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS (emphasis added) where seismic leads say OK

BUT .. until then .. do your research and invest as you see fit ..

Me? there's a few years to go on the Oil play before getting involved (if ever) .. I prefer the gold tbh

My view from the sidelines (I'm currently out and not holding)

GEO holds a 78 % interest in PEL0094 in Walvis Basin — but this asset is still at a very early exploration stage. The work so far has mainly been seismic interpretation and mapping of prospects; no firm drilling campaign has been funded or committed yet. Industry partners generally want more technical de-risking before they put meaningful money on the table.

Contrast that with the licences BP just farmed into — those blocks already have more extensive seismic data, clearer prospectivity and are in areas where multiple majors have been active.

As much as it pains me .. I think the licence was bought in haste and with naivety .. that said, when I was invested it was for gold with a view that the drilling programme for late 2025 might provide a reward for my risk and was not the oil prospects

I made my "exploration" investment in GEO based on Callum's CV

I sold out with a minor loss .. it was in all truth my 'exploration' punt after taking some profit that assisted things

Lesson for me?

Ignore all 'exploration (and vanity) ventures

recognise 'those who will produce in a next 18 / 24 / 36 month timeline (that avoids future dilution) and recognising I wasn't in early to get the "multi bags" but hopefully will still see a good profit

I'll wish GEO and their shareholders the very best ..

my door is not closed .. but until there is news of profit / return on investment .. I'm still out

I sold my holding just on a 14.3p (ish) peak following the recent ex-dividend date ..

I am not holding any shares

Has anyone received the latest 0.5p dividend payable on the 26 March 2026

I expected mine yesterday .. not landed yet .. and now see the share has now ceased trading

The share price has dropped to reflect the 14.5p dividend which will be paid early March 2026

They still have assets to sell and those will be distributed to shareholders using the B Share mechanism

I've just bought .. as I see things

you will have received a secure message about Aberdeen investment - they are closing the fund

Assuming we all hold on ex-div dates we will receive 14.5p on 9 March and then 19p on 21 Nov

My investment bought at 28p will become 33.5p .. an overall profit of 5.5p per share less my dealing charges/ stamp duty

initial dividend means part of my original investment I can invest elsewhere

Lovely .. absolutely on point .. but it's all explorer speak .. I'm glad I'm out

I punted on an explorer drill risk based on Calum .. I took a bit of profit .. ultimately sold on a loss

I'll watch .. let them drill again (and again and again and again) .. and continue to watch until something tangible is worth another punt

My foray into GEO is over ..

It was an exploration punt that did not work out for me despite some modest profit taking

I invested in KEFI because it was low entry price with a 2 to 3 year horizon into producing with the potential of being a multi-bagger

One thing I have learned in life .. nothing ever runs smoothly, issues arise and others can impact the best laid plans

Before I retired I spent my time resolving issues on delinquent contracts which always ended up with a deal and settlement agreement - they often took years to determine the issues requiring resolution. Even the most experienced practitioners I worked with all accepted there were curved balls to deal with and / or governance processes of those involved that always needed to be followed

My message .. just have some patience .. and a Happy New Year to you all
