P0werplay - In some aspects you are right because I certainly do look at the positives. I'm not one for leading a negative life of doom and gloom but you are wrong in assuming I am not or was never aware of the state of play. It was and should have been clear to everyone to see that the Kiliwani issue was bound to have an affect on the companies ability to progress without further finance but I see no need in jumping up and down shout that from the roof tops only to feed the shorters and traders with ammunition. (I believe they carry far too much influence on here already without and don't need my help) It is my belief that had those Kiliwani issues not arisen then we would not be in this position. IMO it was clear from Jay's reaction that it was and extremely hard kick in the teeth to take for the company!
Now it's extremely easy to hold and inquisition and hang drawer and quarter somebody from behind a keyboard but many of the most vociferous people on here were nowhere to be seen on Wednesday and therefore did not witness reactions and natural defensiveness to some very tough questions put their way, but the real point here rather than dig at those people is to say there is no point in such an inquisition because it's too late to change anything. So all the moaning and whinging in the world will only damage everyone's confidence. In saying that, I would go along with the question as has been put... Will we need so many on the BoD in the future? For instance once this deal is tied up, do we really need our own permanent legal man? Once Kiliwani is sorted will we need our drill specialist on a permanent basis? Can the board be paired down even further as we step into the realms of being at least in part an investment company?
As things have panned out some of these naysayers predictions have come true! Luck or judgement, it doesn't really matter because right now, we are where we are and now, it is where we go that is all important.
As you will see from my blog, I am getting right behind the deal offered even though I think it is way below what I was looking for and I have laid out my reasons on there...

Good luck all. I still think we are in for some very exciting times ahead and feel this deal has put us in a position where there is much better chance of success than we had in going it alone.
