Brod, we sell about £10m per month at a op margin of 83% so 17% cost (most of which will be materials). So £1.7m of stock required to make £10m sales.

We had £15m of stock in July, 5 months of using that and replacing it would still leave us with £7m ish going into December. That's a minimum, I fully expect that ncyt will have been replenishing that stock upto a level of at least £10m. £10m of stock would be enough for almost £60m of sales. That's plenty of room to capitalise on a sudden surge. Obviously this assumes that we have a nice spread of stock for all the critical elements.

This is also excluding the £30m of stock we have written off. I'm really hoping we get some good news on that front.

I know there are some who don't believe in the technicals but imo when news is lacking and sentiment is low technicals come more to the fore.

It can't be coincidence that in 9 of the last 11 sessions the SP has tested and failed to hold the 200ema. It is proving to be a tough nut to crack. We're just below it again. The logic is that once we break and hold it convincingly then new traders will jump in for a piece of the action. Any shorts will close and the SP will work its way up 20% ish close to the £4.50-4.60 mark which just happens to be the next key resistance point.

Firstly, it won't subside overnight, so we have several months of intense testing to work through. The absolute best case pandemic wise is that testing demand will then slowly drop off over the course of several months. All this means significant testing will be around for a couple more years minimum.

Secondly, once governments do get some time to breath they will start working on the 'early pandemic warning system'. This will be a global system. What it will look like no one knows but rest assured the WHO will be involved, UN will be involved, UK will be heavily involved. Ncyt are rubbing shoulders with all of these.

Lastly, covid has allowed us to build an excellent foundation into the diagnostic industry. This can and will be used when the time comes to switch into Sepsis, cancer, C diff, HIV, DNA and whatever else is of interest to us.

Hurtle, we all monitor the situation and are all aware. The reason we don't get too upbeat about the declining death situation is for 2 reasons.

The recent upsurge in cases, hospitalisations hasn't transpired into the deaths data yet. Another week or two before we start to see that.

Secondly, as has been mentioned already, the data over the holidays should be taken with a huge pinch of salt due to lags for obvious reasons.

If they are at that level come mid January then yes we can start to look forward with more optimism but my personal opinion is that the figures are likely to increase significantly.

PI100, it's because of what's happened (or what's not happened) recently that I think they'll be a lockdown. It may not be termed a lockdown but it will certainly very much feel like one to most. Boris made a promise that this Xmas would be better than last so he held back but come January he'll have no choice when the NHS is running at 60% capacity and patients spilling through the doors. Lockdown for a few weeks, let the boosters kick in, let Omicron run its course safely and then we move on. Trying to do it whilst everyone is care free is impossible and as a result it will soon be out of control. Imo.
