Personally imo i think since the first submission of the request for the special certificate happened, everything has changed. MMHI and MRPAM have imo realised that due to the massive increase of oil required by China that they have to now protect their own oil, as well taking into account the new oil refinery. What a total catastrophe it would be for the MG if PC took over PM and shipped all the oil to China and there was no oil to fulfill the new Oil Refinery. I believe as said imo that the new agreement which is a JV between PM and MG safeguards the oil hence why they have also revised the PSA's.

Ref the LP who knows when it will be here, but i believe it will and as previously said i cannot believe MB would go ahead with Velociraptor spud if he wasn't guaranteed the LP for Heron.

Researchandhold, I think your post of 06:56 is bang on. Personally I thought the RNS seemed to be a rush job, not a normal full operational update as per Bucks normal RNS's. I think he has to put it out due to the IOM news coming out. I think he had to inform the market, I think we were only told as much about that meeting as he could, due to as you say NDA's in place. It does seem strange that Petro Matad were not mentioned in the photo shoot, but as said I think you are bang on in what you say and why the LP has been passed over to another ministry.

I have always thought that the MG needs to protect the oil and keep it out of the hands of Petro China. A JV with PM will safeguard that.

I personally believe it's tondo with oil and the MG protecting their resources from potential PC takeover of PM. With the refinery due in 2025, Mongolia cannot have the oil discovered being trucked over to China and their oil refinery not being used. I think it will be a JV with PM and MG to keep that oil.

Might be totally way off the mark, but hopefully this means a RNS is with us very soon to enlighten us all, but it is very interesting tbh. Let's keep everything crossed, we could be on the cusp of something huge. ATB to everyone, it's been a long wait

Curiouser, i agree with you there. With regards the IOM meeting, what is encouraging to me is that they felt the need to have a photo shoot and put it on the Mongolian Embassy in UK FB page. Why would you do that if it was anything sinister.

Excellent post earlier Thornogson, yes we desperately need that RNS. I think most people get frustrated with the continual waiting on information from MB. Just to say preparatory work started and we expect spud to be etc. Even a short RSN like that would put more confidence in investors and i would think that would help the SP.

The cabinet are discussing the exploitation activities of Petro China and Doshen Oil. Could Petro Matad also be discussed ???

Manro, i do tend to agree, it is disgraceful from the MG. Nearly 4 years for a LP, held up by corrupt people, hence why i do now believe the MG actually realise that the country is screwed if they don't sort this out. They are in desperate need of foreign investment, so they need to be seen to be working with foreign companies, hence why major law changes are happening to cut out the corruption, but it 's slowly, slowly, slowly and it seems that PM are the guinea pig in all this. Exploitation license hadn't been issued in over 10 years i believe and law changes/procedures were amended for that before we got issued it and how long did that take to be granted.

I haven't got a clue if we will get LP before drilling Block V but i would hope Buck & PM have a guarantee that it will be coming after certain laws are in place as could be suicidal to the SP if Block V is a duster

Thornogson, that's exactly what is happening. Traders dream share, hence why this BB has been toxic and getting worse. even though i must say a little bit quieter today. I would be happy with a 20% rise each week until end of May to take us into double figures and then an RNS to push the SP even higher.

Curiouser, i have recently emailed Malone again and asked him what's the latest and copied in the new to be Ambassador. Malone says he is still supporting Matad and is hoping it will all be sorted before he leaves.

Why do you think Matad have been granted all permits for Velociraptor, but not Heron yet. It ain't hard to see that Matad have been held to ransom by corrupt officials in the Dornod area, whereas its all systems go in the Velociraptor area, wonder why that is ? Think about it.

Another example which confirms it's locals causing the issue. A post below, how came TMK Energy are allowed to drill 3 wells without any hinderance from locals. Ask yourself all this or are you another trying to get in at a lower price !!!
