Changes to PCR tests for travel will be made 'very soon'
Back in the Commons and Conservative Sir Graham Brady raises the issue of testing for travellers, saying there is evidence that people returning from green list and amber list countries over the summer actually had a lower level of Covid than people who stayed in the UK during the summer.

He asks Sajid Javid whether he accepts that makes a very powerful case for getting rid of the day-two PCR test for people returning from those countries.

Javid says the government has constantly kept travel rules relating to Covid under review.

He adds he is looking to make a set of changes "very soon" and the transport secretary will be bringing forward those changes to the House as soon as soon as he possibly can.

Bird has recurring revenue which in a recession probably goes up when more people look for home entertainment so in a stagflationary recession I am expecting Bird should be in demand. Every chance revenue will result in a profit when year end comes.

I think parallel home use data will be good enough for that regulatory approval Bethell refers to and will allow for retail sale but I think government procurement also bypasses PD wallahs, they are just waiting for confirmed capacity to be efficient for any new regime/purchase orders. At the moment covid has free rein to spread.

Mina is keen on LFTs and I am sure he could find a way to gazump so to speak the UK Government for every test we can make as we are the best. There are more affimer experts in the US than the UK I suspect hence our development reps to keep an eye on them and AffiDX would be high profile where it counts.

Profit/revenue is taken from the competition every time Bird win more business and with small margins at Bird to win the business this is a strategy that for a small company is the best way to progress as long as the offering is superior as it will eventually destroy lots of competitors.

the Medusa site says coming soon (for home use I presume) and in all probability Medusa have good capacity of their own as now being on the National Microbiology Framework they might be able to satisfy a big contract and have said 2m is their stock minimum for a test they offer. A DHSC contract most likely would not require home use authority.

There may not be much juice left in that contract but the door seems open to the NHS for the best test to be on the shelf under contracts of the future too.

TEMPLAR, I get overexcited, I thought the RSPT was Avacta's test and is what I meant at first but clearly it is the one Medusa have been selling for a long time. The AffiDX mention must mean their manufacturing is ready to roll.

Not sure the rapid saliva protein test is Medusa product, not us, sorry to mislead but AffiDX is there and home use soon
