RE: COLLAPSE2 Jul 2023 02:25
yes, i think i've been pretty open about my views. i agree with you that in the beginning jab had interests aligned with ours, however as he has raised his salary higher and higher, and received options and options, he has considerably de-risked his investment in jog, when the whole package is considered holistically. and that de-risking has been done with shareholder money, so i'm less inclined to agree about his level of alignment currently.
to the future, my biggest concern is that shareholder funds (which aren't distributed by the efficient dividend processing clerk suggested earlier) will be squandered on suddenly acquiring no doubt "compelling" producing interests which will magically justify the workload of a certain ceo, no doubt necessitating a pay raise and further options to compensate for the increased workload and shareholder value delivery; i'm becoming a cynic in my dotage! at which point i will be ready to vote my miniscule holding, with anyone else interested, as a matter of urgency to remove the self-interested party using my funds to keep himself in clover.
i'm sorry to say that i don't work in the public sector, i'm an independent contractor dealing with the administrative/paperpushing side of things in one of the world's largest pest control businesses. but by pure chance colleagues and i were discussing something similar last night, and we do feel that we provide a public service, albeit with the low key profile of those who just exterminate the rats, ****roaches and other vermin which plague mankind, such that life can continue undisturbed for our lord's and masters in their mock-tudors in carshalton. (hope i didn't trigger anyone with the mankind reference. and if i did, please don't let anyone slip in the puddle on the floor.)
anyhow it's been a long day and i was just checking in after a conference call with a regional office on the west coast so am off to bed. i've left a small bottle of ****burn's in the other room since i have been continually disappointed by their offering, and am more and more convinced these days that, if you're lucky (and it's not guaranteed by any means) you get what you pay for, and this particular bottle of port appears to have a much better shelf appearance than the contents of the bottle justifies.
