WOS - I just couldn't see PC being allowed to take over MATD. The MG I can't believe would be OK with it.

MisterPositive - I wasn't suggesting a takeover would come in, but more that if one did, I think it would be a western company rather than a Chinese one. Absolutely no idea how they'd value it but I'd personally be disappointed with anything less than 15p on a TO, as it stands today, right now.

My gut feeling is that the MG have told MATD they wouldn’t give them the LP and all these other possible things if they simply sold out to PC or another Chinese company. Only IMO, but I think MATD are going for this on their own and if there is a TO, it would be a western company.

It will very possibly go down into the 4's and achieve an actual new low for the company. So what? It means nothing to LTHs who have decided they're not selling down at these levels and will wait hopefully for the recovery in years time.

Although I think my one line extract from the RNS backed up my point, which was that we are having to go back to the locals!

WOS - as always, I truly hope you are correct.

But you know that history tells us nothing is typically straightforward with MATD. For example, the mining minister told MB 1-3 months, it turned out to be 9 months!

However, by using the word formality, you really would think this should be a quick process (i.e. weeks not months), albeit when I see the words "the company will now work with the LOCAL authorities..." to get this completed, it does send a shiver down my spine!

I suspect the SP hasn't really took off because of this:

"The Company will now work with the central Land Agency and local authorities to complete the registration of the area and to sign the necessary contracts required by the regulations on the management of special purpose land."

We're still not quite there. Perhaps, given MATD's history of the unexpected happening, the market won't rerate us until it sees a barrel filled with oil.

I'm undecided on cash raises... I guess it depends how long for these so called formalities to be completed but what I will say is that even if MB came out today and said we didn't need a raise, I wouldn't believe him after what he did earlier this year. But the markets may also be conscious of it being a possibility, no matter how small.

Or it could all just 100% be down to some shady MMs controlling the world :/

ps, found out today that Premier Miton, who run a few small/microcap funds and is run by Gervais Williams, has a position in MATD. He is highly regarded in this space and exactly the type of guy you want to seeing owning your stocks.

I thought the biggest realistic price catalyst was the LP!

Perhaps we shouldn’t count our chickens until oil is actually being extracted. I think that’s the point Curious, BP, Progressive and more importantly the market are trying to make.

There are clearly still hurdles to overcome, but let’s hope the biggest one has been cleared.

This was from the operational update of 14th February. It’s been with DQE’s head office for a long time! I presume it was while they waited to see if the LP came in, otherwise it was pointless. Hopefully they don’t now demand new terms because we don’t want any further delays.

I'm not sure there was chance for it to leak. The cabinet met on 5th July and they RNS'd it at 7am on the 6th.

Why did it rise from 3.4p to 7.3p on no news? Or rather the only news informing us of the continued delays with the LP?
