The partnership thing is the biggest single error of many. Absolutely certain they received offers after SG016 - but they were hubristic and greedy. Wanted the whole pie for themselves and used our faith and ultimately stupidity to fund the project. They now face the real possibility that there will be no pie for anyone

The announcement of Sprinter failure on Feb 21st 2021 ( if anyone can bear to read these words again )

He's blaming it all on SOC - but the SOC change had occurred before Sprinter started so his statement is disingenuous. Now I'm not the man to suggest how they could have designed it better - but I did buy shares in a company I thought had the ability to follow up a barnstorming P2 with a successful P3. If I were to make a suggestion or two I might again say they should have run a bigger trial & obviouly needed different inclusion criteria and maybe endpoints.

Not interested in anything Spacman posts or the debates surrounding him - but the revisionism around Sprinter's failure and the role its designers played in that failure - which Tommyd has been pushing for the last year can be challenged in so many ways. It was not an act of GOD. I'll give you a couple that show it was doomed before it started - but there are many more if you really want to get into it.

Dexamethasone and Remdesevir were both EUAd and SOC long before Sprinter started. And the first vaccinations had been given with millions of doses following on behind.

They really did design the trial on SG016 and clearly that was inadequate

2. But they might have got away with it if they'd stuck to the original trial size. FDA offered advice on trial size but was NOT in control of it. Most P3s are in the region of 1000 trialists - which is where we were before they decided to cut the size and save money. Various people -possibly including Td - have posted to say that SS could have been achieved with another 60 or 70 patients.

I won't get into everything else but neither will I sit quiet as Td elaborates and expands on his nonsense "Act of God" justifications.

It's done and gone - spilled milk gone under the bridge - but they should have seen the dangers of a smaller trial that effectively had the same admission criteria as the blckbuster P2.

As I've said before - they were still looking at SNG as a blockbuster mass market drug and that moment had already passed when the first patient was dosed.

Mani they are not waiting for UNIVERSAL - but using the data from the first 300 patients. Reported by one of the boys at the AGM. Most of the data is Covid and t hey'd be a lot further ahead if they'd kept samples from Sprinter - but as we know, they didn't.

We all know what they're doing now - and most of us understand the complexity of attempting to reverse engineer a test or tests from our existing data and the UNIVERSAL data that will enable the exact pre-identification of the cohort to admit to drug and placebo trials.

The first batch of released data from UNIVERSAL told us very little - but it was just the surface skim. The deep analysis will reveal much more. Despite what Fruits says, it's either unlikely or very unlikely that the scientists and technicians at Synairgen have the skills to do this work. When they embarked on this course of action they could have removed all of the commercialisation hires and brought in researchers with the specific skills needed. Certainly a geneticist - preferably someone with experience of Casanovalabs. An Autoantibody specialist and an AI bod to speed up the analysis. Instead they confirmed Marcin Mankowski as full time CMO.

They will have support from Southampton clinicians who may have the skills - and they will have extra support from Janssen - where expertise certainly resides, but it's obviously much more complicated than they originally thought or they'd have stuck to the original timetable - and none of the ageing team of in house clinicians have these new skills.

Can i reframe my use of the word "remote" in relation to the likelihood of P2s achieving very good results. Obviously if the diagnistic tools developed and used allow for the precise targeting our previous data points towards - then the chances will be decent. More than decent. My doubts remain that the company has the skillset ( it doesn't) or access to others with the skillset to design such novel tools. And that's the whole ballgame. Casanovalabs is part of it - but not enough on its own

It won't be a JV of equals - whatever happens with the P2s. By the time they read out the coffers will be completely empty . The company might have recovered some value through a bump in sp - but the circa 1000 patient P3 will cost far more than the company's value.

If you imagine one of the big pharmas will underwrite this without grabbing the entire equity you're seriously delusional.

Syn has one chance - that the P2s demonstrate such amazing efficacy that the sp gets back to 80p - £1. If this happens they have a chance to strike a good JV but the chances of this in such small trials must be remote

We need a little update to calm everyone down, so come on RM - tell us how close we are to starting the P2s. You don't need to say much but whatever you say mustn't contain any of the old hackneyed language about how hard you're working. We know most of you are sitting around - because the work afoot is too specialised for 3/4s of the work force. That's ok though - tell us what the other 25% have been doing and whether you're anywhere close to dosing.

Thanks for the link Brighty. $400m ( potentially) is a significant show of support for Ensifentrine - which has been submitted to the FDA for approval. Fruits is not bothered of course, but obviously any drug that is doing well or approved in the same areas Synairgen are interested in is a potential inhibitor on the future of the drug. Fruits will also tell you the RSV vaccines recently approved for maternal/paediatric and geriatric use are of no concern. Fruits is not just a fan - he's a monomaniac who viewseverything in the world of Medical science and discovery through SNG tinted goggles.

RM will tell us how close the trials are in the next few days, and there will still be a huge need for SNG if it passes the P2s and P3s - but the Covid boat has certainly sailed without us and huge efforts are being made by the world's best pharmas to take the same respiratory disease market we're hoping to point SNG at next. These new innovations - when succesful and approved - will obviously have an impact on both the drug's and company's future.

Fair assumption and a great question. Why on earth would we do another P2 after the successful P2 in 2020 ? But yes - somehow we are.

If you know nothing that's fine - many of us share the ignorance, and we all started out that way - but one usually declares this level of ignorance, does a bit of research ( maybe starting with every RNS SINCE July 2020 and perhaps the word SPRINTER ) and then ask questions, before telling people the share is about to fly or making risibly punchy remarks about the drug or the company

The period just before Sprinter's result was a mess. All sorts of nutters frequented the board - and the attack dogs came out whenever any negativity was expressed. Most of us with a more balanced perspective gave as good as we got and accepted that the majority of shareholders didn't really want to debate anything even slightly off message.

But nobody - absolutely nobody came on to say bluntly that Ifns didn't work or that the trial would fail. Except you Sakura7 - and you've been repeating it since the Sprinter readout. And naturally that attracted heat - and unfortunately back then, some abuse too.

Sorry for that. Don't know anyone posting now who joined in with that - although you can be sure Manifesto in her previous rottweiler incarnation would have given you some licks.

There's also the question of credibility as it's been apparent since your first post that nobody believed that you worked at the level you claimed to and you weren't able to answer those questions. That's a personal and difficult area without revealing who you actually are - but the much more important question remains with your contention that Interferons don't work - which we know is not the case, as there are dozens of studies - many recent - showing that they do. If you'd made credible arguments we may all have de-risked and you'd be the board's heroine and have a named tankard hanging behind the bar at Big Johnny Win's

The only question now is for you to say whether you were invested in Nov 22 - and whether you are invested now. ?

This board has supported many members in small but genuine ways over the last few years Sakura and it is neither misogynistic or whatever your blanked out word represents. If you wrote rac.ist and truly believe this then you should seek your entertainment elsewhere. If you are not invested in the drug or a believer in the science - despite the 40 years you spend studying it, there's really no need to waste your time and our patience any longer. Much as I'd like it to be - I fear this will not be our Last Christmas. Suspect we will still be waiting n a year's time - either for the trials to fill - or for the end of trial readouts. It's not unimagineable that they start and finish much quicker than this - it's what we all hope, and of course there will still be patients through Q2 & Q3, and if they have enough trial locations the trial could start and finish in 2 quarters, or even - if they go as quickly as they did with SG016 - in one 3 months period. The analysis should be fast, whenever the trials complete.

Come what may - I wish you all a Merry Christmas. Not particularly bothered about who is a genuine LTH or not. If you jumped aboard after the Fall hoping to made a few quid trading that's cool. I'd even extend a warm hand to those whose purpose here is clearly malicious. Even Scrooge deserved his last minute shot at redemption. Most of us are long suffering and wounded with it, but still keeping the faith and mostly maintaining our good relations.

I might be premayure with this but particular shout out to Doc83, & Wigster - who have served the board so well again this year ( Doc83's robust questioning at the AGM was above and beyond and a good read ) and all those who've posted useful information or analysis. Sakura7 you've obviously missed the last few years of Scientific progress. All Science is stats based, and medical data analysis entirely so. The evidence supporting IfN therapies is overwhelming. We'll see soon enough whether this particular formulation works or not.

Good post Ghia by the way. Exactly accords with my oft-expressed opinion. Getting it right supercedes the frustration of continued delays and the possibility of missing this winter. Thery're in the last chance saloon - but still plenty of reason for optimisim. Once the trials are underway the company can trim everything back until they get over the line
