Org/Spitfire seems to think Td is Pmjh. I think it's unlikely. Pm only rarely offered opinion - except concerning his pet theory that tele medicines and remote diagnosis and dosing would revolutionise global healthcare - and that SNG - via ACTIV 2 - was uniquely placed to play a key role in this. Omicron did for that dream of course, for the time being at least, and as far as SNG was concerned.

Beyond this pmjh was a very good digger - the best the board has ever seen - and he uncovered first the trail and then the truth of SNG's participation on ACTIV and the shift of focus to the US.

Td likes this narrative too - but of course we all do, and it's so well evidenced now that you don't need any particular perspicacity to follow the trail that starts on the company's homepage where US stats are quoted and the UK is barely mentioned, and flows through the long history of US engagement before and after Sprinter's failure.

Pmjh hated a punch-up though and scuttled off to Reddit whenever any of his doctrines were challenged - which was rare anyway as his gen was so good and he was such a decent fella. Td is either doing this full time I guess for the fun of it or being fed by someone to keep producing such a breadth of decent supportive evidence in the wasteland after the fall. And with no prior history on the board prior to Feb 21. It's strange for sure - but if you're looking in Org - I'm 100% certain that Td is not Pm. Pmjh was a class act. Not sure who Tommy is tho - clearly nothing to do with the company directly, but there must be a shout that the TFG accusation, levelled in jest at Gunto and Fruits - bear some scrutiny where he's concerned.

Your latest post says exactly what I said earlier - that the mini crisis - which is still seeing almost ONE THIRD of the levels of occupancy as the same time last year - is a combination of the usual seasonal viruses - which are clearly exacerbated by the cold weather. Powis adds strikes as well - and even you would have to concede that JN.1 is not causing medical staff to down tools.

An alternative perspective - which would explain why hardly anyone in the medical establishment here or anywhere else is sounding the alarm. Showing concern for sure - but outright telling us that hopsitals are about to be overwhelmed - definitely not.

The hospital admission figures are the best metric of danger that we have and this Jan shows UK admissions of 1300 compared to 3300 a year ago. Unless it's brewing and the wave is about to break I'd say we're going to be ok. Unvaxxed - unboosted maybe still facing a tough winter - but it's still Omicron and it really can get milder - and has done for thje last 2 years.

Good response Gunto. I'll digest whilst out for the next few hours. Initially I would say that your second paragraph's suggestion that JN.1 has returned us to pre Omicron danger levels is not supported by any of the existing evidence. Or at least nothing that I've seen. And medics are not any more worried by it than any other O mutation afaik. We're in a winter spike. And it's nowhere near as bad as the ones we experienced last winter or the winter before.

Waning immunity is a big worry - but not the virus itself at the moment.

You've said late Feb is now your window for news Gunto - would you care to rationalise that please. Appreciate you can't let me in on your personal "research" but just give us an outline. Suspect it's based on nothing more that the Td line that says H1 always meant Q2 for trials - and taking a punt that news will arrive a month earlier then he suggested. We've played pin the tail on the donkey many times of course - so good luck with your punt.

Mani I get the concern but don't think this is a particularly useleful blind alley to go down. Aerogen machines deliver meds to 1000s of ventilated patients every day - all over the world.

The study is not specifically relevant to us at all - it failed and there was even higher mortality in the drug group, but the fact that it was conducted at UoS and that Ratko Djukanovic was involved are of course potentially useful to any SNG ventilator trials - which will inevitably start at the same hospital and with Djuk's involvement.

Ventilators trialing is a hit to nothing for the company, compared with the other trial(s) which will rely on very very careful patient profiling to succeed. These patients are just there - on their backs waiting for a bad outcome. They don't really need profiling at all - beyond ensuring parity between drug group and placebo.

IfNs are not supposed to work once the citokyne storm begins, and yet there's evidence that SNG is still effective in advance illness.

So it's a complicated freebie for the company. If it fails we'll be disappointed but it won't impact the rest of the drug's future development.
