4. Alpha is exactly right that people who are eligible need to get their vaccine boosters. Looking into this it seems that in the UK, in the 65 and over, and vulnerable categories that are eligible for a jab only 50% have taken it up. That IS very worrying as our protection is slipping, and whilst the general population can still expect to not die if they catch Covid - over 65s and vulnerable are at much greater risk. When I had it in September - less than a week after my booster and before it was protecting me - I was pretty sick - and anecdotally it seems people are having a harder time now. This is almost certainly due to waning immunity.

This is good news. Hopefully they already had enough data from the first 300 to help design the P2s but it's good to know they're halfway there. 500 should be plenty even if they don't recruit the rest - for what we need.

If you were sharing really good news with a lot of important people in your life, business partners maybe or, as in this case, #media #investors, would you wait 10 days before telling them ? Particularly when you can set up your socials so easily to post simultaneously to every platform and it takes about 30 seconds to do it. We've all seen the study anyway of course - thanks to the ferrets - but it is just possible a journo is relying on his twitter feed to keep him abreast of the company's progress.

Any thoughts on the next tranche of UNIVERSAL data & why it's taking so long after the first publication ? This stuff is admittedly much more complicated than the basic gen they sent out a few months ago and will be key in informing the P2s. They don't have to publish it immediately of course but the stated intention for Universal is that the data will be made freely available when it's complete and beyond this if it is so key to the design of the mini trials , it is to be hoped that it is not far off - and that Synairgen has seen the bits it needs.

Why you might engage with this transparent pillock is beyond me. Everyone except Fruits is aware that behind the dramatic headlines is a solid and relaxed medical establishment saying "nothing to see here - move along" Obviously WHO take it seriously just as they take all emerging or unknown threats - but this is not a new pathogen - it was expected - and it will pass without muich more excitement. Beyond that of course as you say Td is the fact that regardless of how permanently damaged the little ones' immune systems might be - our drug has not been tested for paediatric use and will most likely not help them. Tell them to come back in 70 years after a lifetime of chainsmoking and working in an asbestos factory - and we might be able to do something. ( if the trials are complete )

If pharmas are harnessing mRNA technology to Ifns, and delivering via nebuliser for exactly the same reasons Synairgen has always trumpeted its delivery mechanism compared to the other types of infusion or jab, and for exactly the conditions Synairgen is now focused on, surely this is a potential inhibitor for the future of SNG001. I've posted on mRNA many times since the pandemic and it's revolutionising so many areas of medicine that I guess it was only a matter of time before it was used in this area.

There's a balance to be struck between cross posting "the science" to show that the potential market for a successful trialing drug such as SNG is huge and that its successes to date show that it should work against a broad range of viral exacerbations once the specific patient profiles have been identified ( which will hopefully happen in the P2s ), and posting trilas that may be a threat to the drug and the company.

Clearly it's better to know than not know - and in this instance Ethris may be working with an inferior compound that subsequently fails its trias - so perhaps this points up an alternative future for SNG - one which might be achieved with an mRNA partnership that attempts to do the same with our already proven compound. Might mRNA one day down the line supercharge SNG by refining its mechanism of action ?
