Or the RNS that shows validation only part complete, no FDA approval and no sales data hasn’t gone down to well. Hardly a surprise. Lots to come from GDR but not today.
FDA approval and India sales are what I’m banking on so fingers crossed for that.
I’m invested in AVCT as well and fully believe they will come good, but... I’ve just dipped £2k out of there and topped up here at 148. Slowly over the last week I’ve evened it up between here and Avacta as I believe this will come good first.
Don’t disagree with you there Wellies. I thought I heard that figure but was chatting to my family at the same time. Although I can’t quite figure out how Medusa have got into this position with a test that seems to be their own (although it obviously isn’t) and are twisting what an antibody test is, they are bringing more publicity to the ‘Pregnancy style test’ than just about anyone. From a marketing point of view they are very good and they know about infrastructure and supply chains. They have created billion pound companies before so are not amateurs no matter what people may say. They are however trying to cash in on covid big time and I hope their tie up with Avacta doesn’t devalue the brand ultimately. The biggest benefit I saw from this piece on the news is that Medusa19 were prominent, active and pretty much in your face as so many people have wished on this board. Scroll down the main page of their website a small amount and what do you see...? The Avacta logo in all its glory and a big article about their test. Could this be the beginning of the PR so many wanted?
Forgive me for the naivety here or if I’ve got the wrong end of the stick. I know a very limited amount about tooling having recruited into the industry many moons ago. Wouldn’t the simple solution to all this be to outsource the tooling requirements to a 3rd party with spare capacity, especially so for the validation batches? Is the medical tooling industry flat out with know capacity. I know that for more industrial type applications company’s entire business models run on selling capacity.
Just saw some of her interview.
On pregnancy style tests and new technology - ‘some solutions are currently being evaluated and it’s not unreasonable that new technology could be ready within months or at least a short time scale’
‘It is possible that people will be able to wake up and take a lateral flow test in the morning’
That’s not verbatim just my précis.
The test centres isn’t a bad idea. Turn up to a centre through out the day. Take a pregnancy test and get an approved green tick on your smart phone or similar. That might help speed things up whilst they work out how to link the device directly to an app so it can be done at home. Also eliminates any underhand uses of people taking the test for others
Dr Hilary talking about Moonshot on GMB saying government wants 10m tests a day, as we all heard. He said he can’t see it as he can’t see labs being able to carry them out. Then asked about Pregnancy Style tests and said these were the Holy Grail but technology wasn’t there yet. Then said the logistics at sports events etc wasn’t possible even if they were released.
Logistics would be a nightmare and that’s why some kind of passport is needed but we know they are being developed. Its all about how soon everything is sorted and proved as every single test will sell even if it’s hundreds of millions in just the UK alone. Crazy numbers but I think it might be a bit of time away. Realistically Christmas??
Bought a modest holding here at 93 as the last RNS said to expect validation to take around 6 weeks and that was 5 weeks ago. Hoping I’ve backed the right horse here, although with a route into the US market I’m sure all testing options will be explored and implemented if the test does the job. Good luck to all holders
Donated as well. I’ve faced cancer young-ish and it’s an awful time. I was very lucky the NHS could help me so I have full sympathy for this girl. Good luck to her and I hope my small donation can help with her fight.
I call it as I see it DOH but that last post was very much a joke. The previous RNS’s haven’t had the content needed for a rise although today I quietly thought we would do well.
I think currently Covid is the hot topic obviously, and although the cancer treatments long term will be incredible both financially and from a human point of view, we all know success with the LFT will be what sends this upwards. Very happily invested and waiting for a rise, maybe a personal frustration I haven’t invested in some other short term stocks that have given good recent gains with money tied up here. Can’t risk taking it out though and missing the big one!
1.50 still proving to be a pain in the a*se!
Currently betting we’ll get a 7am RNS stating LFT is amazing with US ordering 50m units, BAMS being used in every hospital and AVA6000 has been tried in humans with incredible results.... 4:30pm SP is 1.49! ;-)
Thanks for the replies.
A 4 second breath test would be incredible and no fooling that, I just can’t see it happening anytime soon if the 10 min tests have taken this much development. That seems light years away.
The worry I have with the ten min tests for densely populated areas such as concerts etc might be that the government won’t allow them as the monitoring is not robust enough. The suggestions of watching people do it may work for a more controlled environment like an airport though, and of course there is no problem with private workplaces as it can be done easily on arrival at work that morning.
Not a deramp before anyone starts, I still think the 10 min tests will be a game changer. However I’ve just heard an argument wondering how easy it would be to fool a pregnancy style saliva test and possibly give you a clean bio passport.
What is to stop someone else who is definitely negative using their saliva on a person’s test that has potential symptoms? It would be completely immoral and the vast vast majority would be unlikely to do that, but if it’s the difference between someone getting on a plane home, or being able to go to work, would some selfish people go ahead and do this? It’s obvious some people don’t care about social distancing, or quarantine or anyone else but themselves. There is no way everyone that goes into a stadium or travels through an airport etc can be monitored actually taking the test.
That won’t change the desirability of these tests so I’m not worried something like that would be a problem for the test producing companies, but has this been thought about?
