Yep. Been a bit quiet here recently... might be news on the way?
The fear being played upon was funding etc. To keep the lights in and there was no way a future deal could be made.
This changes all that. Basically puts SoLg in a strong position negotiating wise for a sell. I dont think NM wants to sell tbh but in any case I'm now very happy to continue to hold to see the story. A bit of patience (well I have since 2013) and this could be rather good
The comparison with SXX is also annoying me.... completely different setup and company stages. SXX has commitments that mean it wont exist without funding as it's in the process of building the mine. It messed that up through over complex strategies.
Solg hasn't even got to that stage! At the end of the day it has a saleable asset which can be mothballed if needed and the company will still exist. I expect it to be sold... but not ruling out funding or JV. Only when that starts do I begin to worry about servicing debt.
There is clearly games going on behind the scenes and yep I'd like to know what's going on.
I think mr Irwin's opinion is pretty clear in a recent tweet
I get asked a lot about Nick Mather and why he is still CEO of #solgold. Imagine Cornerstone, BHP and Newcrest supporting Nick in October? A 39% block to start against Nick before institutional shareholders are contacted. Hope the board does their job before then.
Then in a reply to a question
No use talking to Nick, not sure his ears work or if they work, they are not connected to a brain.
I sense an element of frustration
just done a very small top up at 16.96.
I expect we'll see some market stimulus soon especially being US election year (can't have a "business" president with crashing markets). That'll boost the miners in production.... and allow more money to flow into decent projects... I wonder if theres one around with a bit of gold n copper?

That's my thoughts too... I'm thinking Newcrest will be out or simply a consultant in the grand scheme of things.
BHP are still favourites imo and will try at get this at the lowest price possible. I dont buy it that they put some cash to keep the lights on just to let someone else buy this.
I haven't written of a JV with someone yet but this is real long term stuff with plenty of funding risk.
Not sure if Irwin is implying going our own way or a 3rd party purchase. I suspect he's trying to generate some interest for his own ends.... we shall see.

I'd hope he has more knowledge than me...! I'm not sure I understand why he's just sent out the message below.... more games I suppose...
Little bit of a prediction here. Neither Newcrest nor BHP will end up owning Cascabel in the end. #solgold, @solg. BHP is kind of painted into a corner and won't be able to act in time and Newcrest is playing it too cute.
i wouldn't go as far as to say climate change is a con... your example of the ozone layer is related to humna activity as it's now repairing itself because we've changed our use of CFCs. Yep alot of the "green" energy is not great but i'm here to profit from the change to electric cars etc....
If not tomorrow how about sold Monday... HAha.
Seriously though thanks for sharing and the meeting which impresses me on both sides.
I cant think of a better riskier bet than EUZ at the mo for 2020 so have accumulated a few more over the last few days.
I only see the latest efforts as adding value and like the route they're taking. I'm sure there is background game going on with the constant sales but that's way beyond my knowledge base.
GLA and let's hope for a good 2020!
