the fundamentals are separate from macro conditions and business challenges and sentiment as stated many times before.

some excellent contributors focus on the fundamentals such as the ore body and the infrastructure, processing etc.

it doesn't mean that just because havieron will one day be a 20moz plus deposit more than likely that the sp would reflect it at all times as all the other stuff has been against us since 2021 even when we've managed to secure funding on a pfs, have world class backing from banks and wyloo and world class directors.

it's been a bitter lesson to learn that the best fundamentals won't protect you from the other factors significantly pushing the sp down (more so than just shorting on it's own) but blaming those who focused on the fundamentals is wrong.

a good investor takes all information they can understand such as fa, ta and sa to make their own investing decisions and also own accountability liek any adult should. shaun as md is paid to take the flak so i don't have any issue personally if some want to have a pop at him and disagree with his direction but why not also state the alternatives and be constructive?

i asked today for someone to breakdown the theory of their risk of telfer being mothballed and hav just simply abandoned (on lse) as you also need to flesh out risks the same way you do opportunities to make balanced judgements. an opinion carries more weight based on the work you do in fleshing it out than just posting overly optimistic or pessimistic outlooks without any reasoning.

the likes of iot can **** many contributors off or call them rampers but there has been a lot of effort put in by genuine holders to not just post research but all the analysis and research that lead to those opinions. genuine opinions from genuine holders and not fear mongers who either get off on the upset or simply have a vested interest in pushing negativity for quick gains.

dyor as always and make sure any decisions are made through your own influence and research or having an in-depth understanding of others work before using it in your decision making. fear and greed have always ruled aim as reminded by maximus on tg earlier, but you can minimise this through research and knowledge to make better informed decisions.

greed got many of us in 2020/21 and fear is now apparent despite being so close to production, just have to be careful and rational as we can and decide what fits our own risk profile and timeframe :-)

You've got to look at the economics and viability of any project Loftmonkey - you should analyse those projects and assess and pinpoint exactly why the decisions were made and how/if they correlate to the Havieron project.

ROI vs asset prices?

Geopolitical factors?

Bad management leading to lack of capital despite promising ROI?

Issues with construction/development?

The list goes on and on, what reasons do you have in mind for the scenario you have posted this morning, what exactly would lead Newmont to mothball Telfer and leave Hav to rot on teh cusp of production when most of the hard work has been done....?

Newmont will need to show ROI on this huge acquisition... and ASAP to it's shareholders.

Paying for Telfer to be decommissioned, leaving that High Grade ore in the ground after a production ready decline has been built alongside other infrastructure and then also failing to at least sell unused assets would be next to criminal...

Thanks Rotherby, I wanted to force that little rodent IOT into a corner and see if he has the backbone to turn up in person and talk his rubbish... of course he doesn't :-)

And as you say, we get so many chances to engage with Shaun including interactive online interviews (I know it's not ideal to travel to London for everyone especially during the working week, including me!) that we can submit questions in and Liams great interviews with him where we get some really good insight and reflection also on the previous quarter.

None of us are happy with the SP (unless newer folk building a stake I guess) but that is investing for you, risky and full of ups and downs and we're accountable for our own decisions along the lines that one of Panama's excellent posts over the weekend was saying.

What is your real 'commute' or rather the journey you're on IOT, doesn't seem a very fulfilling one despite the wealth you try to project.

Perhaps some of us just got lucky and were taught better ways to traverse life.

The fund raise isn't an absolute, just a consideration and that's what gets forgotten with a speculative article like that.

SD has been consistent in his messaging that although one is not planned they'd never ruled it out either and why wouldn't he be exploring ALL options for the ASX listing with such an unpredictable set of circumstances of risks and opportunities that the Newmont deal has created?

The article is now getting people to assume the placing is 100% nailed on and either fearing it as dilution (hence the SP reaction) vs being accretive in nature or assuming it is indeed a deal of some kind.

I just think it's a 50/50 without further information or indication and we'll have a chance to vote on anything around the ASX Cross listing vs having something forced upon us.

@Sisu - SD did indeed say it was delayed a while back, but GGP didn't delay it and had no control.

NCM delayed the DFS giving the reasoning that they were looking at various optimisation strategies via studies and also to minimise inflationary pressures since the PFS.

It seems a fair assessment by Bmpas and one many of us share too since then to assume that the NEM/NCM bid which probably entailed a mid to late 2022 approach initially also played a part. SD has also opined this might have been the case as their focus on the DFS seemed to decrease in late 2022 before they announced the delay.

I suspect TZM will test the resolve etc. and we'll see AAG commence proceedings against the Moz govt. before agreeing to settle - which they'd always factored into their um 'acquisition'.

Not at all Panama, I understood you, that was just a general observation about Telfer as we have had some query scenarios if NCM did find something more besides these barely cost recovering cutback projects .

I'm sure that once the Newmont acquisition is completed then if they plan to divest Hav/Telfer they'll move quickly knowing they have an interested party who has the capability too... so in 2024 is my guess at the minute... and perhaps some early expressions of interest are in play but I imagine intense focus for NEM is the big one with NCM. Perhaps they make a play for us but I do think they'll be divesting assets first post acquisition.

I'd be surprised if anything discovered at Telfer too now, they really must have looked as hard as possible so Havieron it is for now for continuity and is anyoen going to leave the HG in the SE Crescent just lying there which could then initiate a multi decade bulk mining operation in various zonations... I highly doubt it :-)

As for other opportunities in the Paterson or external such as EG etc. - I am very excited too but I understand the timelines now around discovery to production and doubt we'll see anything developed as quick as Havieron of course - so long term goals (circa 10 year timeframe) and we may not see the same excitement and SP hype as Havieron - which was also fuelled by the 2020 QE craziness.

What will really fuel growth of GGP in meantime will be M&A in the short to mid-term (5 years etc.) so the sooner we're in production the better - this is the PARAMOUNT goal for us IMO.

Shame these trolls aren't running dry of the cheap booze that keeps them posting all night Panama 🤣
