As with any valuation there are a range of scenarios for upside and downside besides the chosen valuation by the analyst or team determining their final range, hence I've just built in a bit of upside as there is a DFS in progress with 3mtpa production rate but so many factors and could easily be lower or higher.

What I meant to write is that I did well with the 5 percent option as I estimated 65m USD but that being Newcrest valuation winning.

Who knows what it was they lost adjudication and was >30 percent lower than ours in accordance to renegotiation of original disparity that kicked the adjudication process into play.

I was thinking if Grant Samuels valuation as the last price discovery event plays into it there might be a play for 500 to 800m USD...

But hard to call as valuations of development projects particularly are very open ended when I looked into the Valmin Code, on top of how the Telfer Mine end of life related factors plays into things

Put the variety of ways to fund a purchase on top as the icing on the cake and becomes even harder to predict price tag that might get agreed...

The WHEN doesn't bother me too much at mo as I still think closing a deal at some point this quarter is achievable and I think GGP are very likely to gain ownership of nother assets either alone or with a JV of sorts probs with Wyloo if that proves the best path.

The WHAT as in how this deal might be structured is what is going to establish how I feel about things in terms of being excited or peed off...

While I think it's more likely to be a decent deal so I've stayed invested, with so many ways to structure a deal, hard to say I can say that I don't feel there is risk attached, also all of my lot are with much higher averages around early to mid 20's so they have a fair bit of a retrace required just to get even from their perspective, so of course I am concerned about them as some sat on considerable paper loss at mo.

We saw a press release before the last earnings call I recall detailing the divestments so might be a near term 'revelation' as such IF indeed Newmont are in a position to broadcast a deal has been agreed for Telfer/Hav as there are other valid reasons for the Town Hall arranged for staff on both assets, which has lead to speculation we might get details this week.

My expectations are measured in that we might still have to wait a while despite the Town Hall we have found out is being arranged. I do still think we see a deal this quarter to ensure that completion can be made before Newmont's stated target for divestments within Q1 2025 - but with so little transparency of sales process, it's hard to determine where GGP might be in talks.

@cp, you're only point of late seems to be along the lines of anyone taking the opposite strategy to your current waiting on sidelines is a fool. Let's explore this?

Why are you waiting on the sidelines? Because there is potential for a positive outlook where reinvestment of your funds makes sense. Nothing is set in stone right now as GGP have not been confirmed as the only bidders, a deal could be set up in a myriad of combinations of various financial instruments and no price tag has been made public.

A heck of a lot of unknowns leading to a heck of a lot of potential outcomes.

I've stated I see no issues with your strategy as have others but of late you have taken to arguing and calling anyone who sees a more positive outlook stupid essentially. There are better ways to get your opinions across surely.

When someone has a few thousand posts to their history it means they have been on these boards long enough to know how they are. I manage to be critical of management and company strategy on other boards without causing a ruckus if you check my history.

I don't call other posters stupid for their more positive outlook on those companies but calmly explain where I think wrong decisions or mismanagement has occured, or where things work against the company having a positive outcome and always articulate what I feel could have been or would be a better approach.

There are better ways to be critical that are more constructive to get your point across, perhaps I missed some folk insulting you but your current approach has added no value to any discussion and just incited conflict.

If you truly feel you have something of value to share and want to win folk over, then use a better approach and that goes for a few others too with less positive views. Don't expect people to listen if you are going to intimate they are stupid for holding the opposite view, focus on explaining yours instead of angry posts about the company or other posters, explain what would have been a batter alternative strategy etc.

Fair enough Freddo - as I've said aplenty from day 1 of Wyloo coming aboard - a White Knight is only a second away from becoming a White Shark.

Always a risk any major shareholder can turn on you, but one every company in GGP's current position in lifecycle has to take on. Debt or equity - always a price to be paid and if you eff up then they will take what they can. As you knwo as my number one stalker (just kidding BTW) I'm in the business of working with companies to help them develop and execute strategies to launch or grow through diversification or existing markets so much more a field I will be at home in than geology and engineering in the future here.

I understood the Lassonde Curve but chose to risk my at the time very large profits held convinced we'd hit on another target or production path would be much smoother so no risk in holding. I have no issue with my own mistake in being greedy and have learnt from it.

It's kept me motivated to learn more and more about the sector, this is how I'm wired when I eff up - I get driven in getting better at what that thing is. You don't often get a chance to correct your mistakes as GGP might give ... look at Alien that I know you're also invested in - that's become far more binary due to idiotic management and poor PM at times despite also having great assets - it could be worse mate?

Shaun and co. have kept GGP in the game despite a lot of things going against them, sole ownership will have a cost no doubt in some way so mid to long term is where the true value might be for those with higher averages to be blunt and more grounded than others might be being....

BUT pre production rerates can be tasty... and the numbers for Havieron are very good. As I was discussing on TG at lunchtime the PPSS study by Lobo Tiggre shows a more tangible range of outcomes than the simplistic Lassonde Curve.

Delisting from AIM has never been intimated by GGP, cross listing has been the most likely path discussed and it's easy to prove fortunately.

Hi MH- if you recall I had correspondence with the Director of IR at Newmont Mari Rose to confirm they had placed both assets together for a planned divestment but that anything more specific would be through market releases as appropriate. So hopefully that indicated their desire to offload both quickly to us anyhow and the TH it seems is planned for both sets of employees much I guess as the project has both assets tied together in it's current form in permitting etc.

There are alternative reasons a TH may have been set I guess but in terms of both assets being bundled together for divestment - that's been confirmed directly by key Newmont staff in the past :-)

Hi Red - I agree deffo some obvious troublemakers vs even any other intent related to investing - just posting to wind folk up :-)

I think as mark says there are no victims - we all know this place is ridden with deceitful or troublesome posters of all types, IMO we just have to learn to either tolerate them or deal with it in our own way and it will differ for all of us. In the 15 years I've had an account - it only gets worse on here and why many have moved to other platforms - also with their own issues of course and TBH in this day and age this is a very archaic platform compared to most.

As with any diverse online community - we will all often disagree on opinions and methods of using the community services and responding to any issues as such, I guess tolerance amongst us normal posters with each other is important too as we all have our personality quirks and beliefs in how to deal with some of these idiots.

Hopefully Newmont push the button this week and we can have something more exciting to debate soon mate :-))

Most have the facility to conduct research or data gathering in some way and share on the board or post some interesting well thought out opinions themselves rather than just being a passive reader and then complaining they don't like the content on the board.

Some of the responses from some of us to trollish posts are often defending our contributions from being accused of being misleading other folk or combatting some of the smarter trolling that twists facts and data - so a more personal attachment to some critique obviously.

A blanket policy of ignoring anything you disagree with or might seem negative is also a really really bad idea - Investments have risks and every facet should be explored IMO even if it isn't 'positive'.

Shape the board into what you want guys, roll up your sleeves and contribute and generate the content you want to see. It is what I did in respect for the work done by others in helping me understand GGP, I decided to lend my own efforts where I could.

Generate and populate the board with the content you want to read if you're that passionate about improving it :-)

@CP - I think I'm balanced but in my case have chosen to stay invested and ride the risk of doing so but I do consider it a risk to do so and did a lot of thinking about it, you've chosen to exit and sit it out to perhaps jump back in post deal if you like what you see... that is investing after all - we evaluate potential scenarios and decide on what strategy to pursue.

No issue with me if there are folk doing what you are vs holding as hard to predict what kind of deal may be structured and at what SP any equity might be raised but you've definitely crossed over into becoming a bit of a troll in you seem to relish winding some up at the thought of their being taught a lesson by a bad deal diluting their holding etc. of late.

I don't really follow the board or TG closely any more so perhaps you feel like you've been abused of late but you're old and experienced enough to know that those taking a more emotional position of being 'loyal' LTHers in stocks often get annoyed at your kind of posts as a non invested person giving 'balanced' opinions.

We all have a bias to thinking we're probably right in our outlook and yours is obviously more aligned to a deal being less likely to be immediately accretive in any sense of the word so you've decided to sit out. Perhaps for your sake and everyone else's a bit of distance from this board would be a good idea as I think everyone understands your position but you're just repeating yourself daily now looking at your posts...

@Dobbs - An open mind extends to all of us and also important to remember that 'Telfer' gets used to describe Telfer/hav increasingly as the Havieron project itself is very much tied into telfer in it's current form both in terms of how it's being processed and developed and more intangible manner in which Telfer will rely on the infrastructure remaining in use beyond the Telfer Mine's own End of Life which is nearer rather than further in terms of overall Telfer lifecycle.

You can check the transcripts section I've helped build up on the GGPChat forum to see evidence of intention to bundle together voiced by Newmont and indeed I and others have shared correspondence with Newmont Investor Relations staff to confirm this in the past here and TG where it is easier to share actual screenshots.

Also in terms of keeping open minded while I hope the planned Town Halls at Telfer is related to announce a deal, there are other valid reasons that exist such as updates from senior management to staff around corporate optimisations and changes due to the takeover by Newmont, provide reassurance about such optimsiations and ongoing divestment process, provide updates on the extensive refurbishments and repairs that are ongoing etc.

North American corps for instance make extensive use of Town Halls to allow staff to interact with senior management and hold opportunities for Q&A about ongoing and planned strategy and events, oft in my own experience in a quarterly period both in an overall corporate management level and for a particular function such as marketing or sales teams.

Personally I've long expected a deal to be announced before Q4 BUT I so see plenty of other valid reasons for a town hall at Telfer so I'll remain open minded until I see a market release to get excited about.

i agree with archer's summarisation of aliens in that this is now very binary in that they need to get han**** sorted this quarter, hardly ramping tbf as whilst the quality and potential of the assets is still there - actually capitalising on them isn't set in stone with aliens at this moment in time by any means - hence the sp reflects the risk and sentiment alongside other external factors.

Edzi - I'm talking about taking an appropriate comms approach and using the correct wording vs stating that the Rome resources deal is unlikely to go ahead. In fact I said the exact opposite before the shareholder vote.

You're just trying to 'win' a point I never raised and isn't linked to my original observation in any way but by your illogical brain.

I am talking about the comms approach being appropriate about something that is planned but not fully completed and this is the correct approach a company should take.
