RE: It’s a new day10 Jul 2024 09:50
Hi SaB, I think a bit of frustration at the lack of anything to talk about as well as uncertainity on the future teh real reason behinod some of the tension between some posters who are really on the same side :-)
I posted the msg below last week in TG and feel it is appropriate here too...
Impossible really to make any conclusions about much related to our future currently around the sales process due to our collective lack of insight and knowledge on what is going on in background including:
1/ final price tag of asset/s,
2/ whether any competing bidders,
3/ whether Telfer/Hav/both assets will be secured,
4/ JV/funding partners that might become involved,
5/ potential deal structure if indeed GGP is the only or successful bidder to close a deal.
IMO we just have to ride the risk we’ve either decided to do so willingly by consciously staying invested after evaluating potential outcomes (my scenario) or perhaps with some feeling they may as well due to being sat on large capital losses on paper which unfortunately is currently the feeling with the majority in my circle who hold higher averages in the 20's.
Some newbies out there I am sure have invested hoping for a rapid spike on deal announcement or some current investors who have decided to add - but the current SP/volumes seem to show the market is waiting in anticipation to see how this divestment works out vs assuming any particular scenario IMO.
I’ll say it again - words are just words and although I’ve been supportive of Shaun to date I have enough business acumen and experience to know this isn’t an easy task for Shaun to accomplish despite his stated confidence and our enviable resources as a junior (people and financial capability) and 30% stake in a quality asset such as Havieron in a Tier 1 jurisdiction.
We just have to be patient and hope things play out to our favour as we’re unlikely to see any strong indication to what is playing out until we actually see a market release :-)
