RE: ASX and consolidation2 Aug 2025 11:00
Blue sky, if going into the first 2 quarters of 2026 after indexation and Hav DFS have occurred then the reality is whether it be manipulation or the perception by he market of GGP, there will be better places to have your money invested probably if GGP isn't performing against peers by then. Right now, early days and I do feel some leeway is fair still.
It has a world class team and great assets, Tier 1 jurisdiction and there will be no excuses by then. When you have that kind of foundation, there is little excuse for a lack of success.
Shaun also won't be having an easy time and likely need to start thinking about a new job if he can't maintain a position for GGP that reflects it's quality beyond mid 2026 . The company doesn't pay divs so absolutely needs to deliver constant growth or why would anyone invest in it if it won't be delivering in a strong environment for Gold?
Like it or not, the SP around which GGP Mk 2 was formed is the new starting point and doesn't matter what averages we LTH had The company is run by the big boys for the big boys now and the higher average you have the longer it will take for ROI unfortunately. We are all in control of when we buy and sell our shares building positions and know the risks of losing it all when investing in stocks.
Last week might have been an overreaction or it might have been manipulation but the best remedy for that is show the market GGP can deliver guidance that they then exceed in future.
I don't agree Shaun was angry in the call, he very much sounded shook at times and so would anyone be, having shareholders like Twiggy onboard is all roses and champagne when times are good - but not the kind to disappoint. You think his ego likes reading' Twiggy backed goldie tanks on results' type headlines....
Shaun and co. will be laser focused to gain ground back and ensure future quarterlies are better received through many factors including embarrassment and a pressing need to win the market back and retain their own reputations. The company is genuinely full of winners and high achievers and they will want to get back on an even keel. Last week was a disaster, a large drop after results is never just 'a blip' but hardly terminal for the company at this juncture with a strong financial position.
The investment case for new and existing shareholders was built on the back of various milestones including the indexation and the Havieron DFS. If the company is struggling against peers after those have been executed and given time to deliver then we have the wrong team in charge given the tailwinds.
But you either risk staying in and being wrong or selling and missing the growth if the team delivers. As it stands currently, GGP SP has done well from the starting point for the new company. However, that probably doesn't offer much comfort for higher average holders unfortunately and I do have empathy.
As individuals, we should have our own KPIs and timeframes mapped out for
