Thanks for the link but that article is already old news. Putin's declaration regarding the 2 separatist republics is not good news for the SP. There will be a significant fall in the markets tomorrow when trading starts and BP will be dragged down along with the rest, notwithstanding the increasing oil price.
From what he said tonight, Putin is determined to get back the whole of Ukraine and he also made it clear that he is very unhappy about the other Baltic States political allegiances too.
I sold my BP shares this afternoon and I will be in no hurry to go back in.
Let's have a reality check please. The SP yields 4% . According to Looney the dividend will increase at a further 4% pa until 2025. Regardless of buybacks this does not augur well for a large hike in the SP unless the oil price remains at very high levels over a sustained period of time .
