Like years before, where sae promised xx or even triple digit turbines at the site (meygen), it feels like putting out a turbine per year *yawn*. Thats a garage.

What about general electric or andritz? Someone serious and upscaled?

Maybe it's because I'm not a native, but tbh as a spectator I don't get the hostile attitude coming out of the blue.

Why? Attract with visionary plans, "the big picture", to then dilute flogging off millions of new shares?

Maybe the wording isn't taken too literally. Turbines generate power which will be stored and be conumed whilst tides turn. So "generating" power can (to me) be understood as leeching from storage aswell.

Sorry for the typos. Hopefully you get what I mean. Tl;dr: buid/ install turbines! don't you ever just plan promise.

Caution!

Nano caps which shout out good prospects, jumping on the bandwagon / hypetrain "ai", rather than doing their homework which is upscaling or at least output at all. At last to me, this should be prioritized. No hollow promises, because it´s "en vogue". If they'd put out more than one turbine a decade ;) it doesn't matter what tides fuel. If it's houses or data canters. But they need those turbines. I for one have more bad experience than good with "tiny garages" playing with the big boys, yet not delivering.

Funny how they tend to word anything in "milestones" ... the first to run in two countries. The first to be submerged twice, turned, installed, turned again, sung a song while submerging and the first on which blades gulls sat on while sun was downing. Wondering what will come up next. ^^

I think its not as plug and playi as they say. Maybe its been optmized getting it into the water and it snuggs in easily. But I guess there are still software things to be adjusted to get things running. So... It may take a few more days

They don't seem too big those turbines on those huge vessels. Rather tiny windmills in comparison.

I googled "power consumption household per year" and it showed 3000 to 6300kWh. So I took the upper value to not being too conservative.

The turbines won't run at maximum, yes. But considering that waters come and go, and that the stream changes between high and low tide, 4,5 hours a day 1,5 MW isn't too bad.

If AR3000 comes it will be a gamechanger

Admittedly, I'm out of school since decades and wasn't good at physics and math at all. I did some research and tried to calculate some things. All I achieved was that, at this point meygen can easily supply about 2500 houses throughout a year. (5000kwh per household) So my first conclusion: Jesus, what a precious resource energy has become and will likely further become.

I don't get this MWh thing. Whats the point of reference? An AR1500 can generate 1.5 MW an hour? So we have 3? AR 1500 installed. If I divide 1000MW by 4,5 I get the monthly MWh of one AR1500. About 222. Divided by 31 days a turbine produced about 7 GWh a day which, dividend by its power, equals 4,5 hours of full workload. I cant translate this into the tide timeframes or judge if this is a good value or not. We also have spring tides and the opposite (forgot the Name)

Maybe these examples are utter nonsense but whats the math behind 1034MWh from three turbines in 31 days?

I found a source where the dreamed of plenty turbines installed in 2021. 3, nearly 4 is almost 49 ^^

I hope Proteus reaches it's crowdfunding goal.

Crowdfunding worked in many cases before. But since we / tidal community is quite a small community we actually aren't a crowed. Few people investing some hundret bucks.

One investor put in 200000 GBX. That made an impact and catapulted the funding from 43 to 83 percent.

Me only capable of investing some hundret pounds belonging to those not affecting much.

Larger investments not only bring forth the funding, but also affect profit. My 800GBX could yield ~80GBX, 200000GBX yield 2000GBX.

Hopefully we'll reach "our" goal. If not, do you think it could be extended once again?

Although "Kraut" funding (in my case ... hoho) works, or worked in several other cases, in this particular the "one big fish" putting in 200k made the difference. Me being rather financially weak, with my tinpot 800 GBP, won't turn the wheel. Great example of how "big money" can be made by big money. Difference between 800*11% vs. 200k*11% *shroug*. So we need just a few more sprots, or a tuna to get it done.
