Bankruptdave - you are not alone …..I’m down by just under 80% which is a bit of a blow…… I’m hoping the the “ unsolicited approaches” for funding referred to in the RNS may cushion the landing somewhat but I still think it’ll be a hell of a bump.

I’ve written off my investment here but will squirrel it away at the back of the box, so to speak. As other posters have said, no point in selling out at such a huge loss when said losses may be mitigated.

Iron roughneck purchased and expected to be installed “within the next three weeks”.

So we are looking at 26th Dec for all fixing & maintenance to be completed then it’s a short 1.2 km to move to the drill site.

I know bug*er all about drilling campaigns so here’s my question…… taking into account all of the above and the statement that drilling is scheduled for early January and is expected to be completed within 30 days, what happens if they don’t raise more funds? Would it be a reasonable assumption that funding was known to be available/secured before they moved from Tai3? Seems daft to potentially be all dressed up with nowhere to go, to coin a phrase…

Flights to cost less……

MINISTERS are planning to use Brexit freedoms to deliver a shake-up of airport rules that could cut the cost of flying, the Department for Transport (DfT) has announced.

Under a consultation to be launched tomorrow, the Government will propose reforming the system under which airlines book slots at airports for their planes. Like parking spaces, these slots are used to manage capacity at the UK’s busiest airports. A slot provides permission for an airline to use airport infrastructure such as runways and terminals to operate on a specific date and time.

The current system, based on EU regulations and dates to the 1990s, requires the slot-allocation process to be consistent across Europe. It came in for criticism during the pandemic, with airlines flying thousands of “ghost flights” with few or no passengers even though the Government relaxed its normal “use-it-or-lose-it” rules on slots.

With Britain outside the EU, the DfT has said there is now an opportunity to take a more tailored approach that works better for businesses and passengers. Under the consultation, the Government will promise limiting slot leasing, meaning that rather than larger airlines monopolising slots, they can be allocated more easily to other competitors if not used after a set period.

At the moment, a high proportion of slots are granted to airlines because of their historic presence at an airport rather than because of their ability to use them to provide the best service or price.

The Government will suggest reforming these “historic rights”, which the DfT said could give newer airlines the opportunity to gain slots to provide flights at cheaper prices.

The department has indicated it will pursue a more liberalised approach than Europe, increasing competition and productivity between airlines.

I have “followed” you with interest (dreadful description but in a non stalker way!) and I must say I usually agree with your views and if not, your reasoning. I was very disappointed therefore to read in the Daily Telegraph today (03/12/2023) your take of the new Meatly pet food. You state - and I’m quoting directly

“You’re making fake meat, which doesn’t sit right with me,” she said.

“It’s quite an experiment to put your dog on this feed. There’s no guarantee that they’re actually going to be getting the nutrition that the marketing suggests.”

Firstly, I would like to respectfully suggest that you need to undertake more research before making such inaccurate statements and scaremongering.

This is in no way “fake” meat. It is real meat, not some Frankenstein experiment. Neither is it “wannabe meat”. Just because something is grown - not produced - in a non conventional manner does not mean it is unfit, substandard or non representative of the original meat product. Cellular agriculture is literally just that…… you grow from cells.

And it is not the marketing that suggests the nutritional value - it’s the science and zoology, pathology, DNA and so forth. To state this is marketing suggests a lack of understanding and a lack of research. If you personally hesitate to feed this to your pets then that is of course your personal choice….. but please do not put it down to being unfit or fake. It is neither.

For transparency, I am a multiple pet owner who has questioned, researched and questioned lots more, the science over many years. I do fully accept and understand that it will take a massive public education program to engage the public in what is clearly a very new concept for food production; informed debate must be had but let the facts speak.

If this is the view from a certified nutritionist then it is going to be a monumental task to educate the professionals, let alone the general population.

Hmmmmm….. LB in RNS dated 20/11 “ The Company is still finalising the details of the repair work that is required for the rig and will provide updates as soon as that information is available; as well as plans for the revised well location once concluded.”

That’s only 11 days ago and in the interview it states appox 2-3 weeks as a guideline for sourcing and exporting/importing parts, engineer etc etc.

What’s the alternative ? LB to issue an RS stating that even though we’re only 11 days in to the 2 to 3 week approximate timeframe she gave before, she thought she’d better just say ……. what should she say? How about she says

Feelings must be pretty raw here for those who put their faith in the company.

I hope posters & those of us who sold out are grown up enough to recognise that and perhaps leave the petty point scoring unsaid. Today is not the day for “ told you so’s”. Deep breaths ….. you live to fight another day.

Jammysparrow - I had to do a double take of your message when you referred to the newspaper article for which you have provided the link, as being owned by the Tanzanian government. As Tanzania is considered a “free” democracy it seemed strange that the government would own and publish a mainstream daily newspaper that goes beyond reporting anything other than government business.

Bit worrying really as the Tanzanian government in fact nationalised the parent company of the Daily News (and other titles) and recently banned another outlet from running print as it carried a story that portrayed their president in a less than flattering light.

The Fourth Estate and all that……

I don’t think a takeover is on the cards and I wasn’t alluding to such an event. I rather meant that at the next update, they will be able to refer to new contracts, solid business coming in and hopefully beat their previous forecast and expectations.

The market does not reward ‘trading in line with expectations’ and something has got to give this share price a good kick up the bum. I don’t like to speculate because what’s happening is anybody’s guess but I can’t help but think there must be a reason why they are avoiding RNS announcements. No company wants to see its share price tank and with the re visiting oil & gas as announced at last update, they do have to show progress.

I took one look at the sp under 6p this morning and could not fathom how we got here. At the very least an RNS is warranted to say that the BOD can see no reason for the decline in sp and business is ongoing, if not announcing their recent contracts.

When I could sniff breakeven I did wonder about hanging around a little bit longer after having averaged down with the intention of getting out as soon as poss …….
