RE: It is all about cash28 Oct 2022 09:37
AS an ex-holder (sadly I sold out over two weeks ago) here is my take. The market disclosure of interest was, in my view a power play by Erik and it was good to see such interest. If I have one major criticism it was the second RNS clarifying the potential offer if it came from parties in cash..? No need for this RNS at all it was not required and one has to question why it put out there. Such detail would normally be announced if a bid was made not to stoke the market.
The CFO's father dumping shares may or may not be related but in my mind if you look back at this share as pretty ill liquid most of the time over the past year any volume has provided an opportunity for people to sell down. The chart reflects this time and again.
I feel that a bid may come in time but if I were the CEO I would deflect interest by asking for a ridiculous price given that Kenya comes on line in 6 months and the producing assets will reflect in a meaningful re-rate over time. For the doubters about cash flow this is not a problem and there will not be any need for raises as some traders here seem to allude to. The terms of the bank loan were exceptional and in hindsight a genius move by Erik.
I don't like the comms style and never have but if I were Erik I'd be having a word with the CFO big time. ATB
