Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Morning Chelsea
SP and commentary noticeably quiet over the last few weeks.
Agree with sentiments, although the lack of management share buys is rather disappointing.
An recent increase in the fleet numbers was most encouraging and bodes well for the future. The question for me is how long before see movement in the SP.
As Ports has alluded to you earlier, and before taking a break, since January there has been a drop of 10% in the SP and the lack of recent movement is disappointing.
Do please keep the comments coming. This is a board where despite my complete lack of experience shows I do enjoy throwing in my tuppence worth.
GLA
Enjoy the remainder of the 'summer' and thank you very much for your guidance Ports. I've learned a lot from contributors like your good self. I hope I come across your posts in the not too distant future. All the best.
Afternoon
As new as it gets at the investment game. Bought in this morning upon the 'guidance' of a very kind soul and in for the long haul.
Liked what was I heard in the PIWorld video as was most impressed with the numbers and the future.
Everything you write makes complete sense Ports. Most grateful for your insight and guidance. Your kindness is palpable.
I hope one day I'll be in a position to help others.
I wasn't aware it was against 'club' rules, but makes sense.
Apologies to all. Will not happen again!
If anyone is to be admonished, and I hope not, it should be solely me and no one else.
Ports my sincere apologies to you.
Such an eye opener to read the possible artful designs of the boardroom.
Ports, Pianista and others, I've learned and continue to make such gainful insights.
Thank you.
I cautiously look forward to see how DXs Express strategy unfolds.
PS
Would always welcome guidance from you in relation to any other stocks which may be on your radars.
Agree P.
It's been sea of RED over the past 3 days and no doubt the bloodbath that the markets experienced a couple of days ago contributed to the slight downturn of DX.
Indeed some institutional &/or directors purchases, announcements of new depot openings etc would set a new tone in terms of the SP.
Whilst I continue to stand firm with a very modest holding of £18.5K, I hope there is a positive move in the SP before the year end results are revealed followed by a further blast off.
If I recollect Ports did comment that he was monitoring the SP with interest but was hesitant to go in just yet.
GLA
Hear hear Chelsea!
I would, however, hope that doing my own research as a novice and the wisdom of the likes of good yourself, Ports and others would mean swimming rather than sinking. : )
I'm in it be safe rather than sorry notwithstanding the risks with this kind of game.
GLA
Chelsea, I topped up on 21 June @ 32.4 based on similar optimism and based on the posts I read from the most helpful contributors on this forum.
Despite the SP has been yo-yoing all day and I'm very close to buying again.
Just monitoring how Cineworld and a couple more stocks are doing before....
Morning all
Notwithstanding the short term unpredictability of the SP and acknowledging that the update adds some flesh to the bones, my concern, in light of recent Covid surge, is that DX drivers could fall victim to the "pingdemic"!
This would surely throw a spanner in the works.
Despite my post being grim to start with, the RNS does fill me with optimism for the future and I wholeheartedly re-affirm what most folk have already alluded to here.
In terms of revenue being 6M above or a 4M decrease, I couldn't possibly comment because it's way beyond my pay grade. I rely on the understanding of far more knowledgable folk.
As Pianista has already posted, "we'll soon find out".
Watching the stock market "bloodbath" and at the same time monitoring DX sp yo-yoing.
Ports, as always you make a lot of sense and your sentiments are most welcome and most appreciated.
You are so very correct in my outlook being a short term one with the stocks I previously mentioned.
I've been monitoring them for nigh on a year and seen massive swings for one reason or another.
Whilst I, inherently, tend to err on the side of caution, I am very fortunate to be able to set aside a small pot of money which I am prepared to lose, not that I want to of course.
I guess it's kind of a risk and reward attitude whilst I feel my way around...
I reiterate that this discussion forum is a paradise as far as courtesy and impecable manners are concerned and compared to so many others where folk are ready to rip out each others...
Enjoy the allegedly sizzling weekend and here's to a positive update.
Once again, thank you Ports. : )
Morning all
Whilst the Maidstone depot expansion is indeed welcome news, I would have thought it would have been greeted with an upward movement of the SP particularly in light of the recent and sizeable director share purchase.
But I'm guessing the impending financials may be better indicator of where the SP is heading over the remainder of 2021 and onwards.
Incidentally, when are the next financials due?
As I become more 'brave' I've also started monitoring stocks in Cineworld, Boohoo and Tullow Oil.
Call me daft but I see the volatility in the SP of the said companies as an opportunity rather than caution.
Of course I am following the rule of thumb of researching to the extent of my understanding...
Be grateful for any opinion on the aforementioned companies.
As always GLA. : )
A wealth of experience which you are always happy to share. Many wouldn't, but you and others are always helpful. Thank you. : )
Ports, as always your sentiments are a breath of fresh air.
I continue to learn the nuances of the market and remain fascinated with the variables involved.
Thank you.
Perplexed with the continued drop in SP which is down almost 14% over the last month adding to a pretty gloomy last 6 months.
News of the new depot opening hasn't done much for optimism.
Frankly 7500 sq ft isn't particularly big but a significant increase from the previous site.
Here's to hoping that the update in July allows the SP to revert to at least same levels.
GLA
Read a quote recently.
Every 'man' serves a useful purpose : a miser, for example, makes a wonderful ancestor!
A learning experience each and every time. Thanks Chelsea.
As one of the contributors commented earlier, the SP continues to hover around the 33p mark without any further sharp drops and fingers crossed it will creep back up towards the mid and hopefully the higher 30s sooner rather than later.
With an update due fairly imminently and the Board pressing ahead with opening new depots, lockdown easing (although that's not a certainty), Schroders, etc, I in fact increased my holding by a small amount as my confidence in DXs performance continues to grow.
Unfortunately I still haven't been able to get any information on any potential acquisition/merger and frankly having given up on asking my 'mate'.
Onwards and upwards and GLA. : )
Agree with you re SP being 32.75 Chelsea. That's what it says on my share dealing account too.
Any idea why such fairly consistent mistakes such as incorrect SP &/or buys showing as sells and vice versa?
The way I see it, lost packages/poor customer service are the equivalent of a virus.
The Board, being the vaccine, merely attempts to reduce the risk of contracting the virus.
There will never quite be a cure, although the hope is that the planned booster jabs will reduce the chances of further infections taking hold.
As I read and imbibe comments made by experienced 'players', my understanding improves immensely and for that I am very grateful.
Ports your view as always strikes a sweet note.
Hi all
Firstly, I totally agree with the sentiments of both Ports and Chelsea and look forward to the next update.
It is indeed a great fillip to read the continued optimism for the future of DX.
Apologies for stating the obvious, but seeing the SP ascend to the dizzy heights of the low 40s will be very pleasing.
Secondly, unfortunately I still am no further with the request concerning the possible merger rumours. As soon as I am able to report anything...
