Evening Ports
Perfectly summed up when you wrote "choreographed", particularly as we've been led on a merry dance!
I deliberately did not mention delisting in the hope that it never comes about as it would probably be the worst possible outcome.
The radio silence over the previous months has made me feel that any kind of meaningful disclosure from the Board would put me out of my misery!
The DX board has given new meaning of the word speculation!
Hi all
Despite not having posted anything for months, I have been following opinions of seasoned posters with great interest.
Meant with great respect, there has never been a dull moment.
To summarise. We have a new auditor, radio silence continues on part of DX, conjecture on new depot openings continues, M&A on the cards and without stating the obvious, what choice do we have!
We continue to show 'faith' in the Board despite a show of disdain by the Board towards PIs.
Seasoned investors will ride out the storm but daft novices like yours truly continue to keep their fingers (and toes) crossed in the hope that they can recover some of their dosh.
I hasten to add the above is not to say that seasoned investors are not concerned about their hard earned cash being lost!
How much impact will the predicted recession (allegedly) have on the balance sheet?!
The top and bottom is that the uncertain and bumpy ride continues and we are in it for the long haul.
Relative to other posters on this Board I have absolutely very little to contribute here, so sincere for repeating what others have already stated.
Roll on October, or whenever, when hopefully DX will recommence trading.
Interesting view Pat2014.
Buying sizeable chunks of shares may indeed point to confidence that the top dogs have in the company, but the wait and not knowing what's going on is extremely frustrating.
So continues the waiting game and frankly speaking I'm not sure what I would do if and when (fingers crossed) DX start 'trading' again.
All I'll say is that I'd happily eat any negative sentiments or frustrations I've expressed on this board.
As that wonderfully colourful cricket raconteur David 'Bumble' Lloyd would say, "start the tuk tuk!!!"
What will the next RNS reveal?!
First and foremost, glad to have you back Ports. Sister's justifiable frustrations, like a lot of mine, became more and more apparent in her posts with the BODs silence on such a crucial issue.
Indeed I agree with you Ports, when you write that this is much bigger than initially thought.
As far as I'm concerned it now comes down to damage limitation and that is quite a daunting thought.
Who will jump ship, be shoved out. Is delisting inevitable?! Notwithstanding, growth strategy, capital allocation etc, what will happen with the SP and why should anyone believe anything the BOD feed us, not that they are telling us any thing!
The top and bottom is, and apologies for stating the obvious, will PIs who have maintained their faith in DX be screwed over because of this so called "corporate governance" issue?
Once again I appeal to all those who post on here, to be mindful of the sensibilities of others. It's a great filip to someone like me to have different but intelligent posts.
Once again good to have you back Ports!
I've been AWOL for a short while but very sorry to read of your decision not to be part of this board. Your opinions mattered to me and others no doubt, but after Ports left the board I thought things may have been different.
Ironically, Ports returned to this board and as per the norm his post made perfect sense.
Hope to see you back here sooner rather than later Sister.
Morning all.
FJ I do NOT hold my investment in a SIPP. I simply bought them through Halifax's Share Dealing Service.
As for my investment it is around 23k and that is substantial for me. Of course I was fully aware of the risk so no complaints there.
Sister thank you for the detailed and most valuable information.
Yet another week of silence which is deafening!
For an inept investor like me, would you please explain how my investment would be affected if the business was sold or the shares were delisted.
Is it likely that I would lose most of my nest egg?
Do I have any choice or must I sell my shares?
Morning all
Another day, another dollar, or not as the case stands at present.
Sister, I hear what you say and whilst I did research DX I believe very few, if any, could've predicted the current debacle.
The "cesspit" truly has been a stinker for me and many more, I'm sure.
I can't thank folk like you, Ports, ATPM and others for the support, guidance and pearls of wisdom. Frankly, that is what I sleeping me going at present.
As far as DXs expansion plans go, I'm not sure whether to believe if it is because it is a fundamentally strong business or just more spin.
How much longer can this silence continue?!
I'm not sure how I would react IF the suspension is ever lifted.
Thank you so very much ATPM for those pearls of wisdom.
I truly have learned enormously from posters like yourself and am most grateful.
I was most encouraged by Sister's post, and then for you to reinforce her thoughts backed up by your evident knowledge and experience is even more of a filip.
Once again thank you and have a good weekend everyone.
'See' you next week!
PS
Bandit Capitalism here I come!
'Hear' you loud and clear Sister and I'm clinging on to the most minuscule sense of hope, however misplaced it may be, that all shareholders emerge from this relatively unscathed.
ATPM, I'm not at that stage of blowing my top. All investments come with a degree of risk but I feel more let down due to the management's breach of trust and it's lack of accountability or comment.
Then there are novice investors like me who literally will never make another investment because of the fear factor engendered by DXs shenanigans.
The more I think about it, the more I feel like a dingbat!
Roll on Monday and fingers crossed something...
Have a great weekend and thank you for bearing up with me and my rants.
Indeed it is one of a number of scenarios ATPM. Notwithstanding what I have previously posted in relation to the financial strength of DX, from a personal point of view all I would like to know is will I be to recover anything or have I lost my investment.
It's a frightening prospect for me (and many others no doubt) and the silence makes it even more stressful.
Presently, none of us have a choice but to sit tight and ride out this awful storm.
My sincere apologies for continuing to spout and state the obvious.
Unsurprisingly ATPM, I had no idea that is how things worked. Once again something new and valuable learned. Thank you.
Despite your post, I have to add that the wait, and for such a long period with no end in sight, is awful.
Any information rather than complete radio silence is what would be welcome.
Feels like the Sword of Damoceles is edging closer and closer...
Ports, your input is extremely valuable and it's a real shame that you felt compelled to remove yourself from this BB because of one or two individuals.
Plz do reconsider your decision to return, if not I wish all the best.
Folks, I've mentioned this on a few occasions previously that this BB is filled with courteous souls and is a valuable source of information and opinions as opposed to posters nuking (frightening word particularly in light of ongoing events) each other.
Let's keep it way and respect the opinions of everyone even if we do not necessarily agree with them.
Valid point Run1.
That's not to say IF suspension is lifted the SP won't open at 12p or even less.
As Sister already stated in 'her' last post, it doesn't take a lot for a sound business to be run into the ground by weak management policies.
It's the silence, for all the reasons stated many times, which is palpably deafening.
Pressing issues which need to be sorted are indeed the order of the day, Sister.
I just hope they do get sorted without too much collateral damage!
Time will tell and I sincerely hope that it doesn't take long before all of us hear either way.
At the end of the day it's all about the suspension being lifted initially and then watching where the SP goes.
Thank you for your take, Sister!
Thank you FJ. Your opinion is sound and very much echoes the views of the vast majority of PIs particularly on this board.
I've now been part of DX for almost 2 years and have seen many spikes and troughs over that time. Overall, I've kept faith in the company because of my belief in it's infrastructure and those at the helm, despite Covid, tough economic conditions etc and to be honest also because of what I've read on here.
I've read some brutal comments on other forums and this board comes across as genuinely helpful and allows it's contributors to voice their opinions without nuking them!
Hopefully some positivity will emerge from all the speculation sooner rather than later.
Sister, reading between the lines, and dare I jinx things, your gut feeling seems to be rather favourable.
Buyer in the wings or perhaps a takeover!
Probably wishful thinking on my part, but at this time I'm happy to take anything positive from the current situation.
On a slightly different note, I was chatting to an unknown who I happened to meet in a shopping centre and who has been in the logistics game for the two decades.
He name dropped quite a few of DXs BOD and told me that despite troubled waters, DX is a sound business.
However, his take was that PIs were now in this for the long haul with the distinct likelihood of a change at the top.
I've read most of what has been opined on this forum and the general consensus is that the present management has done a grand job but for the recent debacle.
The majority of contributors here are vastly more experienced than yours truly, but when you hear an objective opinion from a party in the game it makes one think so many things.
Be good to read what other contributors think.
Sister, your words are reassuring and I am sure there any folk who are in the same position as me.
May I at the outset say that I always maintained faith in DXs bod, but the resignations, the eerie silence and the shenanigans have made me feel utterly deflated.
I appreciate, only because I've read it here, that BOD had turned this company around, but then to become embroiled in such a massive controversy simply beggars belief.
Rant over, que será será...
As a novice and heavy investor it is frighteningly disappointing to read the comments over the previous weeks.
I just hope I can get my investment back.
I never thought I would ever think this way.
Thank you for your guidance over the last few months Ports. Learned a lot which I believe will hold me in good sted.
All the best, but I hope you will continue to post your pearls of wisdom for folk like me.
