The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
For what it's worth, and as I have posted previously, I was one of those with weak hands when this drop happened at a similar time last month. SP then went up quite quickly not long after I cut my losses and sold out; I panic bought back in, pushing my overall average up from 170ish to 230p. I don’t plan on making the same mistake again. I will be sat on my hands until Texas and between now and then, there may be other good news like, you know...'that' market.
I genuinely hope that other holders on here are not stressing too much today / this week. It’s difficult sometimes to cut through the comments on here from those who want to see SP go down (and I don’t blame them, we’re all here to make money, right). Where way differ, is the way in which we are comfortable in making that money.
Ps A declaration: I’m a secret fan of Pearls. And it would make my day if he bought just a handful of Arb shares.
Arb's results? Pretty sure it's next week.
I'm going for 'May the 4th' (be with you), because, you know, this digital currency space is a bit statwarsy to me ;-) and dropping 'that' RNS on a 'May the 4th' just makes for a lovely story.
Sorry - I'm clutterig your post with me dreaming. Many apologies. Arb April results next week, I reckon.
Proph: a combination of all of those and, if I'm honest, a tiny bit of greed crept in as I expected the sp would drop again, therefore present an opportunity to buy back at a lower price and fully recoup all losses, quicker. I now know that 'being out', and therefore possibly missing out on rapid gains, sat far less comfortably with me than expected. But hey-ho. Lesson leant. If it drops aggressively again, the skin is definitely thicker to shrug it off.
SR123: sounds like a plan.
hopsta999: I spend my day on work video calls exaggerating my head-nods, pretending I’m listening, whilst focussing fully on the sp on other screen.
Stnz: I hope so mate.
Proph: you’re very welcome. Not really. Genuinely gutted :-(
Bristolian: good rule. Struggling with discipline, here though.
Wobbled off the cliff just before close yesterday. Sold out. All out. Shed my Argo, despite the replies to my post on here (thank you, by the way). Instantly regretted it. Panicked all night that 'the' RNS would drop this morning. Hit refresh on my phone solidly from 7am to 8am. Rushed back-in this morning. All in. Average jumped up considerably from 176p to now over 200p. My 'red' is more of a scarlet. Massive faux pas.
Note to self.: give the constant checking of share price a break. Come back in June. *puts head in hands* / *screams in disbelief*.
Anyone else finding it hard to keep the nerve and not use this rise to sell and limit the damage done last week? I'm heavily invested here, was under water, but can slowly see the surface and now struggling not to sell and be 'sensible' in case of another southerly move. It's a hard share to own, this!
May have been posted before. Apologies if so.

...I hope everyone’s cardiac state is bearing up? A rather naive question, but would I be right to be semi-impressed by the extent at which that Bitcoin bounced from 51k? Clearly, the drop was aggressive, but to recover by half in significantly less time that it took to drop suggests that some people, somewhere, must have bought a lot Bitcoin? Thanks in advance.
Not wanting to add to Zoro’s publicity campaign, but just in case someone falls for his / her claims and predictions; This from Zoro:
“can smell the fear from newbies now. CFD short opened today just on right time mate. Sub £2 will make my money back here 1.8 put me on +£100k booom.
Watch and learn placing price always get walk down no matter what.”
So, basically, if you’re a ‘newbie’ just keep ignoring. The constant Zoro negativity now makes sense.
No worries Kalg. Genuinely. Perhaps I’m being a delicate little flower (or tulip ;-)). In which case, I return the apology. No hard feelings mate. The irony is I have quite strong views on the state. One for another time perhaps. Cheers
