Thanks for the update / thoughts as to a possible future option for both JPR and TNI, interesting if the whispers become a little louder. I would agree JPR need to post a satisfactory set of numbers at the half year stage or investors will move away. I think the survivors in the business will be the ones who from now on push the boundaries of journalistic delivery in the next phase of creativity. When you think of the developments since the millennium and the ideas that are on the scrap heap you can see how developmental costs can soon swallow any potential profit and pull a co. down to its knees. As a share holder I hope the board /AH have the flair to take us forwards with a balanced delivery platform, which is profitable!! GL all.

Is it a wait and see share? Cheaper debt yes , less of it perhaps, a good company model, I hope so but I guess ftse invader has a different view. I, as a shareholder hope this is that first step up the ladder of progress. I know in the past one or two JPR employees have posted ok company reports on this bb so if there are any more thoughts from them re mood, or news or emails from AH could we have the relevant bits please. UBS triggers over 7% so maybe just maybe those of us taking up the RI could have done the right thing, shush don't tell anyone or it may turn sour. let's see what the Sunday press and Monday trading brings. GL all.

For what it is worth. I dealing decision was 11-59 on Monday ie the 9th. RI shares were tradable from the 29th of May and I think you could sell the right to buy for about a penny . I bought my allocation and the money will be taken on the 13 th of June . To me the shares will start trading next Monday but I haven't seen that fact anywhere. Also I. Think, tom, you RI 's will be sold and you will get about a penny back for them but I can't guarantee that. So I think next week will be interesting, have I / we made the right decisions?? More big buys, someone is trading as if the company is going to move on from here. Let's hope so, a little positive update would help us to make some steady progress north. Any insight anyone? I remain a believer!

Ok points taken, all valid research/ opinion, print and digital will run side by side, even though we have been given too much free national news and therefore expect the same for the local stuff. Two years to profit? Not in the business so don't have the close contacts to enquire but a) we all need local news and we all advertise , need jobs etc so there is a call for platforms be that print or electronic. b) All type is electronic so cheap and easy to deliver. Paper trails are slow and outdatedv by the time they get anywhere . I don't know the answer but there is one! The links with sky? Pie or what? Let's see, and in my case hope the man at the top has the answers.

Ok had a 'worry twitch' over the last few days re the RI, have read and reread peoples thoughts on this bb, also yesterday's RNS - another twitch! - , had already convinced myself that Ashley H knows exactly what he is doing and JPR will be stronger in two years time. Then the doubts arrived, and the RNS and the negs on this bb. THEN the big buys 14 million shares so back to my original thoughts and take up the rights! Invader-agree re. Share consolidations I can't remember one that has really worked (splits oh yes great news!) however your point 1 is really outdated tosh, let the journalist write, take pictures, sub edit etc, let the snappers write and edit (if they are good enough) if not send them off to retrain. You will end up with a motivated work force, gelled together, not one with demarcation lines never to be crossed, and people chasing their tails waiting for someone else to turn up to take a picture etc. write it snap it, get it on the computer, to attract the advertisers. It's those people who pay the bills. So back the boss, back the company. I have one more opinion to research before that final decision, I will look in the IC and see what they have to say- unless someone has their copy already to relay the IC view.

I still haven't had details yet from i dealing about the RI so I don't think they will start trading this month. I still think it is ok until I am told otherwise. The share would be out of sight if it was not acceptable? Any further research I have missed?

It must have been you who published the original post, so well done for giving accurate info, rather than my interpretation. PLEASE IGNORE THE 10-41 figures / interpretation, the figures are NOT ACCURATE. ok - as I said - massive!! I will get my head round this one (or try to)

brid0 - you have to hope that the price drop has already been factored in, with the drop last week, but yes more shares at a lower price but the company has more capital or in this case less debt. Many have said it is the historical debt pile that has held things up for JPR. I can't find the RI details - someone on this board said 6.5 new shares for each one held at 3p that is massive and unusual, I would expect the other way round. 1 new share at 3p for every 6.5 held, if I am correct, you hold 100,000 shares you will be offered (100,000 :- 6.5 = 15,384) so 15,384 new shares at 3p = £461.52 to pay. You then hold 115,384 shares in the co,. BUT as I say I havn't seen the RI details has anyone?? Investors Chronicle tomorrow should have the info and an opinion, however my opinion is take up the rights! DYOR and good luck.

'Rights issue shares are when a company issues more shares and offers present shareholders the opportunity to by them, normally at a reasonable discount. The company has more capital and the shareholders have more shares but at a diluted (lower) price. If people don't take up their RI shares they are sold and the shareholder gets the money less commission - they normally sell at a further discount. Take up your rights and keep them if you think the company is progressive and the rights issue is to get the co. over a short term capital or cash flow issue. Do not take up your RI shares if you do not have faith in Mr Highfield and his team. When you get your 'pack' it will state the first day of trading for the new shares. Up 8% today - someone things the new financial structure is going to work so I guess that is a good pointer! I hope that helps and good luck in the future.

It means he was given them as part of his remuneration package and they were being held in the employee benefits scheme, so he (in fact they, as there were 2 directors benefiting). They had to achieve certain targets to get them, so they did just that!! (just like David Moyes - he would have had a clause in his contract - win the Champions league cup and the bonus will be XXXXX with loads of 0's, seems like he forgot one of the details though!!). I see Ian Dorrity now holds 17 million shares in PVCS , that sounds like a ringing endorsement to me . Can't go to the AGM but if anyone can could they report back please. PV should be good for any spare cash st these prices. As usual DYOR and then buy!!

PG must have spare money from his c21 sales. TEG must still rate as a long term good business , any electricity production is cash in the bank, operation of waste sites and building of new facilities will pay off soon or at some point.

Something going on with JPR , big buys over the last two trading days. Someone wants this on the cheap! All will be revealed in due course but too late for us PI's to get the cream! It will be of special interest if it is Trindle. I will remain a holder.

Quite a positive report in the IC today, their view was to 'hold'

AH working his magic again. Rock (Nominees) will be the holding co. for Sir Ray and his family and they at least think this is a great vehicle to invest in for future growth, like many of us! it amounts to a vindication that holding shares in JPR is going to pay off. Sir ray wouldn't gamble with his dosh, so the board must have given him an update of the future structure of the company as well as any risks and he must therefore be happy with the future financial situation and company prospects. As always DYOR and then buy some more shares! GL with your decision!
