Yeah exactly so the agreement was in 2014 so it's being suggested that the dealer would have to pay the DCA plus the interest accruing at 8% over the next 10 years so at least a doubling, roughly £400 in this case. But figures from the industry suggest that the average cost would be £1100 from the DCA + interest@8%. So given the roughly 15 year period it covers I would guess roughly you just double the cost to cover the interest I.E. average payout could be £2500 give or take £500. Close had around 2 Million customers over that time period, apparently only 40% had DCA on average so 800k could claim. Realistically nobody knows what the final scenario will be but I would guess around 200k customers would be upper range of people who would complain and if you say £2000 per customer, you get the £400 M figure. But if you half the customer complaints you get £200, which is where most analysts have landed. Anyway even with the £400 M figure company looks ridiculously oversold with even factoring in the £400 M hit to balance sheet you still get tangible book value of roughly £8 per share

Yup listened to the court of appeal case on youtube, read the judgement. Am no lawyer but the hopecraft case was not controversial and was initially dismissed by the county court. Basically this young nurse paid £8300 for a car, Close paid the broker £180 DCA, she was not informed, and she ultimately paid back like £11000 over 3 years with APR of like 13%. The appellant merged the case with 2 other more egregious cases where the DCA was like 20% of the value of the car instead of the 3% paid by Close Bros. Basically the judges had to decide whether it was secret and therefore a bribe and that the consumer was misled. Even with losing the case I really don't think this is like PPI where a precedent is made and now the floodgates open. Each case is very unique and honestly this has massive implications for tons of industries where DCA commissions have always existed and are still paid today. World has gone crazy where a young nurse buying a car 10 years ago is suing the financier over a fair £200 payment to the broker for giving them her business, living in a managerial and bureaucratic mess of a country where lawyers and regulators rule the roost

True, market currently seems to be pricing in some odds of a rights issue, but CBG has cash for £400 M by 2026. So if the cost is below that it seems plausible there is no need for rights issue. Anyone's guess what the outcome will be but IMO odds are still 4/1 that there wont be a rights issue. If they do announce one I would guess sp would fall below £2 so at circa £2.80 market doesnt seem to be pricing it atm

"Could be unlimited", boll*cks, there will be a number, Even if you say every single customer they did the discretionary agreement with came forward it would be roughly 400,000 x £4000 = £1,600,000. But that scenario is ridiculous, so IMO you could get 50,000-100,000 x £4000. I know you can change the figures to suit whatever you want cause nobody knows but thats the kind of range the analysts have been putting out. Although tbf they have been spectacularly wrong on the sp targets so far so idk if you can trust anything they say with any degree of confidence

Interestingly both WJG and VANQ have similar share counts, I buy on value of future discounted cashflows and IMO both have a similar FCF outlook from 2027 onwards, but WJG is half price due to your mentioned worries around funding and cladding. IMO Vanq has worse issues in the long run as regulation gets worse. Anyway could always be wrong but am happy with risk/reward right now :)

Think Vanq finally got some half decent management but IMO nobody is talking about how much regulation is destroying the ability of banks to serve customers and make reasonable profits. Now we got socialist government am out with 20% profit and all in on Watkin Jones. GLA all think Vanq is going to ultimately come gold but lets not pretend management have probably still got to find all the skeletons in the cupboard re costs and loans!

IMO REVB should be trading at at least 0.5 sales and probs 0.5 GMV for BOO so at least a doubling of the sp for both seems pretty reasonable, ceteris paribus. Now of course I can't predict the future news events but if management and auditors have been honest seems kind of like a no brainer to just buy and hold for a few years. Fast fashion and makeup are solid market segments. Anyway I'll let you continue to shill stockopedia, I hope your on commission :)

I mean I've deliberately stayed away from both BOO and REVB since the bubble in 2021 but recently opened positions in both at 28p and 20p respectively. IDK why you are shilling stockopedia when all you need is the annual reports and rns'. Headline loss looks pretty bad but as usual strip out exceptionals and business is treading water. IDK if management can deliver the cost savings then reinstatement of div will boost sp but long road to there. Who knows what SP will do meantime

Lol German acquisition was a good deal and is performing well. It's the core business which is struggling in the current environment. Still a solid company and plenty of growth ahead in the coming years, just going through a rough patch just now and IMO a buy below 600
