I agree with you but until it’s passed the various regulators there is always a risk. The regulators may have a different view of Aviva’s new market share being too high. Unlikely and you would have thought Aviva would have preempted that concern before they even thought about making an offer.
Also, I guess there will have been a proportion of people selling when it hit the high 260s on the basis they are not losing out much and don’t want to hold part of their investment in Aviva shares.
Getting part Aviva shares is looking very attractive if the broker recommendations are right that they could be worth closer to ÂŁ6 in the long run.
