I agree most human science products will take years to come to fruition and also cost many £millions to develop through each phase. More immediate products would be needed to meet costs, hence the following caught my eye.

What I had not credited them with are plans for internal sensors to recognise different drivers and occupants, with obvious potential to interact with control settings, such as seating, head-up display, preferred routes, heating and entertainment, according to who is on board. I imagine nano-particles equally have a home in internal sensors as well as LIDAR. And, if not Apple, perhaps Google or Tesla may have interest in similar applications?

That’s a good summary Nanono, which reflects my thinking. A stable and sizeable revenue, will support R&D and help NANO to develop non-display markets. So much depends on the nano particle deal to replace the income we hoped would have materialised from Display some months/years ago. Everything about the deal suggests our partner has deep pockets and needs volume production - all good. However, what it brings to the party in terms of profit is less clear. We can only hope there will be sufficient to turn a decent profit and feed R&D. Only the above will take us where we want to go and overcome obstacles, some of which I believe have been placed in our path to serve the vested interests of certain big players.

Certainly buys more DM than we could eat in our lifetime, and with only 172 days left to Xmas - not too much longer before we finally find out what is in the parcel.

I still have a feeling that IR sensors and LIDAR are just part of the story, so as to maintain cover for our American partner.

Thanks Mikemine - useful insight. It makes sense that VLS cannot act as mouthpiece for ENVIA despite relevance to its product and we of course remain in the dark regarding the costs and timing etc. However, having managed technical solutions for a complex project I have to imagine a suitable fix for the plumbing will be possible, even if the cost is significant. Confident VLS will get over this setback.

My plan is to hold to the point I consider value in nano-particles, life sciences and vertical agriculture is fully in the share price, so I shall be here for a few years yet..

Overall, I have confidence in NANO and the management team but managing and accepting risk to our funds becomes much more difficult, if there is cause to doubt the information presented. I am not of the view that Board members have lied but several comments and statements appear misleading and would benefit from explanation.

We all hope NANO is genuinely on the cusp of greatness but surely, it is a positive to offer challenge and provoke discussion, as Jplay has done? We have both witnessed and questioned the same issues, and I suspect many other LT holder have done the same.

I agree with JPlay, Nanonano and others - success in Display has not materialised - held back by something. Perhaps our CFQD are too expensive, more effort is required to configure them to each application, or some other obstacle?

NANO probably lowered expectations for Display some time ago to refocus on nano-particles and the American partner and as they are likely to be on site, perhaps we do not need our own Operations Manager for the new production line? That is not to say CFQD will not gain acceptance in Display later, or when manufacturers are forced to use a CF option - really hope so.

As a LTH this really is disappointing news despite the fact we knew the risks. It may be worth holding but it really looks like a long haul now. Commiserations to all long on this one.

Waterloo is of course correct in many respects but how ironic that Sarepta has FDA approval for a drug that has not proven efficacy and on the back of sales of that drug has acquired substantial European rights for Ezutromid from SUMM for a relatively small sum. A blinding hedge made possible only by the FDA’s bizarre decision. Then again it has injected capital for SUMM.

The article below demonstrates that Sarepta has not satisfied the European Medicines Agency that Eteplirsen brings long lasting benefits to DMD boys. It also indicates no significant difference achieved in walking test distance by patients dosed with Eteplirsen and those who received a placebo. Let us hope so RC30. If Hisense and KDX initiated development at some point in 2017 we might expect a 12 to 18 month development period with their products landing anytime between now and mid 2019, just ahead of the cadmium ban. We would certainly prefer late to never.

Stella 48 week results would in reasonably short order provide the income and freedom SUMM needs to develop potential blockbusters in the unmet need space. And, whilst all looks reasonably promising at the moment, such trial outcomes are notoriously binary in outcomes, so we need to temper our enthusiasm with realism for the moment and if E comes good we can all party - rather a lot.

I caught the back end of an interview on R4 yesterday talking about just how important a healthy biome is, and how science has only recently come to understand both how it protects us from many ailments and also the damage that anti-biotics can do to it. An interesting piece on the work Apple is doing on such vehicles and a new patent. The tech collects data for lane identification, pedestrians and road markings, presumably using camera/LIDAR etc, and uses an AI neural network, which recognises features around the car and then provides the vehicles navigation system with information to make decisions in real time. Very ambitious and lives will depend upon it, so nothing less than the best sensors will cut it. Another reason for being cagey on pricing might be that GE has in mind the possibility of FDA withdrawing approval for Sareptas Eteplirsen, if it does not demonstrate efficacy by March 2019. In such a situation, SUMM could find itself with the only meaningful treatment for DMD and command a stronger market position. So far GE has always under promised and over delivered, which together with the underlying offering has kept the share price moving generally north, despite occasional dilution. However, we now have a much more diverse and stronger company with more products at early stages of development. So I could not be more pleased with the Boards performance, except and unless the 48 week results bring the boat in for us all.
