I have lost count of years that came and went without delivery of the ‘promise’ in Display, and it now looks dormant at best. Forecast downgrades and further delay suggests 2018 will end in a similar vein. Perhaps the good progress on next generation products means earlier CFQD were not quite up to specification? For these reasons, I shall not get excited over the ‘Near term’ possibilities, until delivered.

More positively, Alison Fielding has invested real money at 42p a share and expansion of capacity in Runcorn might infer a cash positive NANO late next year, barring risks such as delay or technical difficulty.

As a product, QD is more valuable than gold by weight (guessing ‘nano-particles’ are no different) so a few thousand Kilo’s would be rather welcome and would reward the continued faith of PI. I have a good feeling 2019 will be pivotal but probably not for Display.

Thanks Max - I spotted the good news on toxicity, which helps bring the 'carrier' concept a step closer for NANO tech. Meantime, fluorescence will prove helpful to highlight cancer cells during surgical procedures, subject of course to overcoming whatever regulatory hurdles remain.

It was of course brain cancer that took Paul O'Brien, so let's hope his life's work can be used to good effect in the treatment of fellow sufferers.

The route to market for dye treatment in humans is different (and simpler) to that of pharmaceuticals and the key tests appear to be toxicology/safety? Hopefully NANO is fully involved here and certainly it has links with UCL.

Given that fast growing cancer cells can be invaded in this way, an obvious future step is to use it to deliver currently approved drugs and target cancer in a non invasive manner. A very positive development for cancer, irrespective of who owns it.

You have a right to speak your own mind Nanonano, and it is both healthy and positive - so well done you. I agree NANO remains speculative and also that it has been a perennial under performer. However, I have never lost faith in NANO, despite it being one of the most frustrating shares I have ever owned.

Having said all of that, I have a feeling much better news is on its way and after several false alarms and disappointments I may even be right this time.

Certainly a possibility Mars 1 and I suspect a another possibility is application in the Apple watch (OLED and Micro LED), where sensors have potential to move the Human Computer Interphase forward leaps and bounds.

Very sad news reported in the Daily Telegraph today. Father of the CFQD Paul O'brien and founder of NANOCO has died aged just 64.

We should each take a few moments to think of his family and thank him for his enormous contribution both to science and mankind. I am sure we shall be reminded of his genius as we use products that he has been instrumental in bringing to market.

I suspect the continued delays on all fronts and including nano-particles have been the reason for indifference in terms of share price but firm knowledge that it were Apple would change that. This weeks share price movement might be an early indication of some Momentum building.

There is clearly risk of further delay but the good news is that sensors should be providing the income lifeline NANO so desperately needs, and hopefully within the next year. Of course how much income depends upon the terms of the commercial agreement struck with the partner but if Apple, then Smar****ch, iPhone and probably TV/Monitor are each likely income streams. Other risks remain too but if NANO delivers to anything near Runcorn’s capacity it could become a big player in terms of market cap very quickly. After many years here, the mid term looks much more rosy and not (initially at least) from Display, which if it delivers later will become the icing on the cake.

Agreed. More likely that any near term excitement will flow from nano particles.

Would certainly like to think so Wellwell, as any issue over quality would raise concern of a greater order. We must hope ROHS will not be diluted and manufacturers will adopt CFQD for Display.

Yes Nanonano. I am not clear why advancing technology should effectively prevent CFQD from being used, when presumably the same development issues impact the non CF variant? Is the issue more specific to NANO or cost related?

Yes. I mentioned in previous posts that I initially bought at £1.70 NigWit, so I feel sure you include me as a less experienced investor with judgement that is clearly inferior to your own.

Your initial entry price was better than mine but in recent years you really have spouted some nonsense in terms of Display and some, influenced by your posts have no doubt bought (and lost) under your influence.

Today we learn the truth - QD performance is not quite what it should have been and Display is dead for now at least. If you are right about NANO (and I hope we both are) then it will for the wrong reasons.

This presentation provides clarification that whilst LIDAR is within plan, it is not the main event - never made sense it would be in my view. The phrase "Rapid adoption" is reserved for smartphones, automotive, consumer electronics, medical and industrials, with automotive more likely to refer to in car sensors than LIDAR in the short/medium term. I feel that is very much to our benefit.
