I expect NANO seeks first human use in cancer detection as the process will be less onerous than for pharmaceutical products, which require three lengthy (4 years plus) and exceptionally expensive phases before use is permitted in humans. Someone else may have a better idea of the length of time it would take to gain approval to use non pharma products in humans? I have no doubt that QD with active ingredients will follow in time, as there can surely be no few better ways to deliver drugs precisely to the site of the cancer. Revolutionary - NANO is working with UCL to explore using QD as a marker in place of dyes currently used to highlight cancer in the body and possibly to deliver treatment too. This work might be a possible source of this patent ? I am less hopeful it is linked to the US partner but you might have nailed it? ME states that nano particles will be put to use in products that include LIDAR, so my money is on the main product being something else.

Well done rc30. If all is as it seems, the interminable delay in display could now be at an end, and NANO may even be in receipt of payment for QD shipments of several months ago? We shall know soon enough if the share price keeps creeping northwards. Income from display will hopefully cement NANOs future but the many and alternate applications for QD and nano particle is what excites most, with potential to change so many aspects of life for the better.

Unfortunately, we win some and lose some, and occasionally we are pleasantly surprised by unexpected news. Hello tozerk. It would be wrong to say "they been lying" based on the information publically available. I am sure they were in some form of discussion and could still be. It could be that having ongoing discussions has helped to deflect any concern from the March RNS, to effect a new broker had been appointed, as otherwise shareholders might have jumped to the conclusion that a placing was in the offing? If negotiations have run out of steam they should really be providing an update to that effect, although they will want to leave such an announcement to the last possible moment. What we do know is that so far, no one has put forward a proposal that merits an RNS, so we are free to make of that what we will. PS Stumbler - Good luck to you too - and not being a holder should not stop you from looking on the board. You never know something really exciting might happen here one day.

Unless there is a rabbit to be pulled out of the hat in the near future (hope there is) then the numbers published say what needs to be heard. If there is good news let us hear that too.

It would appear that armed with this sum (around the same value as a vanilla 2 bed flat in London) Messrs Vainnika and Desler have a plan both to turn the company around and provide a breakthrough in targeted cancer treatment. I suppose it is just still possible but the 'fire' sale option seems more likely.

The system is broken in my view. Long term holders take the initial and greatest risk to be rewarded only with dilution to point of extinction. Unfortunately, in the absence of a better way that is how it works. Realistically, does anyone realistically think that �0.95m is sufficient to turn this around? The best we can hope for is that funds will see us through to a 'fire' sale in my opinion, and to look elsewhere.

The report below, published in Neurology Today, identifies that "... interim analysis of the RNA therapy golodirsen found it improves production of the dystrophin protein in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) who are suitable for the targeting of exon 53, researchers reported here at the AAN Annual Meeting. The protein production is low but similar to a previously approved drug of the same type, leaving open the question of whether the drug will prove to be an effective, approved therapy for the devastating disease." The inference appears to be that Golodirsen produces similar levels of dystrophin as does Eteplirsen. The author hardly seems to be providing their ringing endorsement. I believe it depends upon whether the business is in a closed period or not Thurgarton. If the business is in a period where a price sensitive activity is underway, such as when an offer to purchase the business has been received, Directors are prohibited from making a share sale or purchase. There are lots of other less exciting examples where the same prohibition applies. Not saying these circumstances apply today, just highlighting the possibility.

Good morning NigWit. I take 2D to mean the number of directions of travel each particle can travel in, 2D a bit like placing a marble in the cavity of a double glazing panel. Other descriptions are available including total depth measured at an atomic level. None is entirely invalid but the former seems more relevant to the properties of nano particles and QD. Just conjecture, as I say, so it is entirely possible there is no connection. We may learn the truth by the year end or be surprised some day between now and then..

One use for QD in a 2D application is display technology and if we think back to March, Bloomberg reported that Apple was developing its own Micro Led screens, initially for watches. There are numerous references in the article, which fit with the attributes of NANO QD so it is worth another look to remind ourselves. For example: Both Apple and ME say the devices they are working on are technically complex Micro LED are less power hungry Screens are notably brighter, and Engineers have a finer level of control over individual colors. SMMT suffered a little more than its peers on NASDAQ today, down 4.5 % compared to SRPT -2%, CAPR +1.5%, CATB -1.2%, PFE -0.3%, Solid +5.5% and WVE -0.7%. I know not to read anything into a single day's performance, but NASDAQ is not suggesting a positive start to Tuesday in the UK, where today trading was as thin as I have seen it - a single sale of 1140 shares. Is everyone on holiday?

I am sure that GE will have told it as is AppleMac as the trials have been very well planned and conducted so far - no benefit to over egg, especially at this stage. Ezutromid certainly seems to be improving muscle health, and the 48 week results look more likely to offer further promise than not. The walk test results remain an important measure in terms of improving quality of life and I am increasingly hopeful we shall see improvement there too. I keep searching for information on the health of boys involved in the trials but I have found nothing yet. It seems SMMT have that pretty well controlled and no leaks

It would be a huge and unwise leap to imagine that Ezutromid could have potential to extend life expectancy of DMD boys beyond 40, but that is what sprung to mind. Long term drug stability and a host of other factors will be in play but I think this a very interesting observation AppleMacMan and well done for spotting it. I do wonder why this point seems to have gone unnoticed by scientists and analysts though? Perhaps a good scientific reason why we should not get excited? I am not sufficiently knowledgeable on the science to form a view but it would be truly great for all concerned if this is a genuine Eureka moment!
