I thought long and hard about exiting at just before the close, at 517p. Would have made a great account trade too. If they bring out a blinding report tomorrow I think these have every chance of a serious jump, as the market makers are clearly having trouble with stock if they keep hiking the price on every reasonably large buy.

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - IBA Health Ltd said a key partner in UK's iSoft Group Plc has withheld its consent for IBA's 333 mln aud takeover offer aimed at creating one of the world's largest healthcare software providers. IBA said Computer Sciences Corp (CSC) has indicated it will oppose the takeover, which has been recommended by the iSoft board. IBA said CSC has not given reasons for its stance and that both iSOFT and IBA are now seeking clarification on the matter. In a statement to the London stock exchange, iSoft said that it "has received a notification from Computer Sciences Corporation that it does not intend to give the consent to the change of control in iSoft that is a condition of IBA's offer." At 8.29 am, iSoft shares on the London stock market were down 12-3/4 at 38. The trading halt of IBA shares on the ASX remains.

Very poor set of results released on Friday. Pretax loss of £105.3m on increased revenues of £106.9m. Where to from here for MOB? It seems to me that people just don't want to buy ring tones any more, it's so easy to convert any track from a CD and use that instead. MOB has to move further into other areas such as gaming, news updates and so forth, which is an ongoing process, but they now look to be some time away from a decent recovery. The share price topped out close to 50p recently but is now back down to 38p and still well below the ZED buy price. This sad saga continues.

The forecasts were for pretty spectacular growth from an EPS of under 4p for 2006 to over 10p for 2007, which would represent a P/E of around 5 at the current share price. The fall in SMC seems overdone, but that is typically what happens with profit warnings. The following part of the release offers some hope as a long term holding: "The Executive Chairman is determined that such changes will enable the Group to improve its financial performance to a level where month-by-month results are in line with the Board's recent expectations." So plenty of scope for a recovery over the longer term, but with the current P/E at over 13 even after the price fall, they may well need a 'back on track' progress report to help the share price recover in the coming weeks. I doubt I will be speculating on them this time round.

So much for turning the corner. SMC stated in April that although pretax profits fell they were confident of meeting full year targets. Today they announced that they now have the results of a review started by the incoming Executive Chairman. "The Board believe that initial findings together with the results of trading for the financial year to date may lead to a significantly reduced profit expectation for the six months to June 2007." SMC down 32% to 56p.

It looks a bit like a 1.2m share rollover in after hours trade this evening. Timestamps are different but the prices would indicate it. Someone has some confidence if so.
