Fair enough, and I'd probably waver towards Weak Buy rather than Buy. According to the forecasts they should make a profit for the year, and although we could have another adverse result in the Champions League next year that's too far off to speculate. I do feel that the expansion plans into new territories are what could make this company in the next couple of years or so, assuming no bid surfaces. However, it does seem that consolidation is likely in the gaming market and the first real bid will send ripples through the entire sector.

I think ultimately the AC Milan result knocked confidence and the figures for May resulted in a loss overall after the first 5 months of the year. The market has reacted badly to this, despite the fact that the loss suggests that earn-out obligations will have fallen by a greater amount. In other words, the company overall is better off than if Liverpool had won and they'd made a profit in May. It seems likely that we'll make slower progress now as we head towards the interims in September. I think it will need a bid (or more serious rumours of such) or an announcement on expansion (probably into Romania) to get the share price moving in any significant way between now and then. They certainly seem like a very good buy if you can tuck them away for a year or two. 2008 projections suggest a trebling of the share price at least, from the current value. Of course, you can never discount rumour or speculation affecting the share price in the short term.

Plenty of buying of SBT this morning after the FT ran a '90p a share' takeover article over the weekend. With the shares nicely below the recent high of 67p I'm taking a small punt on a T20. Speculative, but they don't look like they have a long way to fall if it's all just another false rumour.

IEC flying this morning. Already up near £13.50 and in the top 10 risers in the first 5 minutes this morning. It would be good if they can get back to recent highs before the Russians decided to know 30% of their value, but pushing up towards £14 would be a good start.

Out and still in. :) Today was the last day on an account trade bought far too early a couple of weeks back. Was in then at 12.61 so sold those just before the close at 12.72 for a loss of a fiver after costs. The shares bought Wednesday (not quite so many, more's the pity) to try to bring the average down I'm sticking with for now, I paid just under 10.88 so looking pretty good so far. The question is how far will they go. The initial RNS was presumably leaked as the shares recovered substantially beforehand, but the follow up RNS at 4pm helped further still: "Imperial Energy Corporation PLC said none of its licences in Russia will be revoked, after it met with the Russian licence regulator Rosnedra." It goes on to state that certain seismic work has to be carried out within three months and all licence obligations have been met. The shares were up over £15 before the suggestion of problems, even close to £13 still looks reasonable as an entry level. Valuations above £20 are being muted too so there's plenty of scope for further rises if this debacle is well and truly behind the company.

Imperial confirms that a meeting took place today with Rosnedra, the Russian licence regulator, regarding licences of Nord Imperial, Allianceneftegaz and Sibinterneft. Rosnedra has advised the company that none of its licences are to be revoked and at Nord Imperial, Sibinterneft and the Maiskoye field of Allianceneftegaz all licence obligations have been met. These interests represent in excess of 80% of Imperial's total 2P reserves. In relation to certain other licences at Allianceneftegaz on Blocks 70, 85 and 86, Rosnedra noted certain outstanding seismic related work and required that such be completed within three months. Imperial expects to receive minutes of such meeting within one month.

I know how you feel and have thought about selling a couple of times so far this morning. A Russian commission has ruled that TNK-BP violated terms of its licence, the licence now seems likely to go to Gazprom. BP have barely moved, despite the news and IEC remain fairly strong this morning. When news of the meeting emerges there's a good chance of a jump in the IEC share price, one way or the other. Nervous times for sure, but the increase today suggest sentiment is positive of the outcome. Personally I think we should get some reassuring words a little later so plan to hang on for a short while yet.

Hehe, there's truth in that monkey. That said I just sold SOLA at 536.1p, but rather than just bail complete I've decided to let the profits ride (as with TAN) and retained 300 odd shares. This was a quite large and risky account punt for me and I'll no doubt consider buying again if there share price were to go sub 500p. Very good long term potential I think, and worthy of trading on a T20 on weakness.

Hey rthak, just exited too, 116.25p. Good price considering. Unlucky there thushara, I thought about bailing yesterday too having seen the rally then fall again. Indeed a problem with volatile shares like this, and there's just no knowing when an RNS is due. Came a cropper on CHP recently when they announced a dry well, lost a packet that day, although in that case despite rising shortly after they are now back below what I sold out at. RCG is one to keep an eye on, I'm not convinced that these issues over the share left in the will are out of the way yet so more volatility is likely I think.

The AGM is today I believe (in fact probably already finished) but I read about further trouble from Russia suggesting that they want to withdraw licences from IEC. There is apparently a meeting being held with the Russians tomorrow to try to resolve differences. My thought it that the rebound from what looked like sub £10 might have been on the back of 'good vibes' from the AGM. Unfortunately I bought in yesterday at £10.8785, so a little early to take advantage of the start of this rebound. Now up to 1092-1098p, level 2 looking strong with buy vol of 117K and sell vol of 28K.

Lol, he made the right decision there, good news from RCG this morning. Personally pretty glad I took a T20 as it went from healthy profit to loss and now back to profit again. Level 2 showing good buying pressure, 109K buys, 52K sells in the system, 3-2 at 109-112p. Perhaps further to go today.
